Job Overview:

About the Team:

Coursera’s Content & Credentials org empowers learners, partners, and enterprise customers to achieve their goals. We improve the learning experience through innovative systems, scalable solutions, and close collaboration with partners and vendors to deliver high-quality content. As champions of the Coursera community, we align cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement across the platform.

Within the Content & Credentials org, the Teaching & Learning team brings together learning design experts and researchers who provide best practices, training, and consulting for content development. We work closely with partners and content creators to design transformational learning experiences, using research, experimentation, and data insights to improve learner satisfaction, engagement, and outcomes.

About the Role:

The Senior Learning Design Consultant is a full-time, U.S.-based remote role focused on enabling partner success and driving revenue growth for Coursera’s strategic accounts. You will play a critical role in shaping high-impact, skill-aligned learning programs that meet learner needs and respond to market demand.

To achieve this, you’ll lead the design of new content and the optimization of existing offerings, using data-driven insights to improve learner outcomes and business performance. You will consult closely with content vendors and industry partners such as Google, Microsoft, IBM, and AWS - providing expert guidance on curriculum design, content quality assurance, and post-launch improvement.

This role also partners deeply with Coursera’s Product team to bring the latest learning features to our partners. You will drive adoption of new authoring and learning innovations, and channel partner feedback back to product teams to help shape future platform capabilities.

With strong expertise in instructional design, especially in STEM domains, you will bridge the gap between industry experts and online learners, helping translate cutting-edge knowledge into transformative, scalable learning experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive Partner Success: Collaborate with strategic partners to launch and scale high-quality, skill-aligned content that drives learner impact and revenue growth.

  • Design Transformative Learning Experiences: Partner with subject matter experts, content partners, and thought leaders to define learner outcomes, develop content outlines, and create hands-on assessments.

  • Repackage and Adapt Content for Diverse Formats: Expertly repackage and adapt existing content to align with specific learning needs and formats, ensuring seamless transitions and high-quality learner experiences.

  • Apply Data-Driven Optimization: Use performance analytics (e.g., ratings, reviews, learner behavior and outcomes) to deliver evidence-based recommendations that enhance learner success and inform future content design.

  • Advance Product Adoption: Partner with Coursera’s Product team to pilot and implement innovative authoring tools and learning features, driving usage and shaping future platform capabilities.

  • Leverage Generative AI: Utilize GenAI to improve consultation quality, accelerate content reviews, and enable innovative, scalable learning experiences.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years professional experience in creating online learning experiences with senior-level partners.

  • 3+ years of STEM experience (work or education), including proficiency in at least one programming language, understanding of software development lifecycles, or data analysis skills.

  • Experience leveraging quantitative and qualitative data to inform learning outcomes and improve online educational content.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building constructive relationships, influencing effectively, and fostering alignment across diverse peers, experts, and content partners to achieve business and learner outcomes.

  • Experience using Generative AI in learning design, including proficiency in prompt engineering, AI-assisted content development, and consultation on or development of AI-powered learning experiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive adoption of innovative tools and learning features, collaborating with product teams and partners to implement and optimize new capabilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, independently and collaboratively, in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in STEM, education, or instructional design

    • Subject matter expertise in computer science, data science, software development, and/or engineering fields
