THE OPPORTUNITY

Varicent's Sales Planning software empowers organizations to design and implement comprehensive go-to-market strategies by optimizing market coverage, monitoring sales performance, and enabling proactive adjustments to enhance sales team effectiveness. It offers features such as visual maps territory design, predictive intelligence, and collaborative quota allocation workflows, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and maximizing revenue potential.

THE TEAM

As a Senior Software Developer (Full Stack) for the Sales Planning team, you will be joining a remote, cross-functional team of designers, product managers, and software engineers dedicated to revolutionizing how sales organizations execute go-to-market strategies for unparalleled success. You will work on enhancing a rapidly growing modern SaaS product: a single-page web application built in React, connecting via GraphQL to a serverless backend deployed to AWS.

Here, your ideas are valued, your contributions drive impact, and your growth is a priority. We're not just building software — we're empowering sales teams to achieve revenue growth and market dominance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Envisioning, designing, and developing a web application using modern web application and cloud deployment technologies.

  • Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.

  • Conducting thorough testing of software components, identifying and resolving bugs, and ensuring the product's reliability.

  • Optimizing code and architecture to ensure the product can scale and maintain performance.

  • Working closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of software modules.

  • Focusing on client success through creative problem-solving.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

Required Technical Skillset

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of strong software development skills using TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and Node.js.

  • Experience with micro-services architecture, GraphQL, Apollo, Docker, and AWS services (Lambda, Aurora, RDS, ECS, Step Functions).

  • Experience with NoSQL and SQL databases (DynamoDB, DocumentDB, PostgreSQL).

  • A passion for building high-performance, scalable systems in the Cloud.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. C2 level English or higher is required.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for clean, maintainable code.

  • Experience with test-driven development, continuous delivery and continuous integration

Preferred Technical Skillset

  • Knowledge of or experience with generative AI models, e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models.

  • Knowledge or experience with RAG architectures, vector databases and document retrieval systems.

  • Experience with AI/ML libraries like LangChain, PyTorch or TensorFlow.

  • Familiarity with prompt engineering and AI evaluation methodologies.

  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Collaboration and Communication

  • CEFR B2 level English proficiency or higher is required.

  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

FIRST 30 DAYS: GETTING STARTED

  • Get acquainted with the company's development environment, coding standards, tools, and processes.

  • Understand the codebase by reviewing existing code, documentation, and possibly pair programming with senior developers.

  • Start developing features for the product.

  • Gain proficiency in the technologies and frameworks used in the company's projects.

  • Attend Agile rituals, understand the product roadmap, and contribute ideas during the planning phase.

  • Collaborate with team members, ask questions, and learn from experienced developers.

FIRST 60 DAYS: BUILDING MOMENTUM

  • Start contributing to more complex features or modules under the guidance of senior developers.

  • Take on tasks with less supervision, demonstrating increased confidence in your coding abilities.

  • Develop skills to independently troubleshoot and debug issues that arise.

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the system architecture and how different components interact.

  • Begin sharing your knowledge with other developers, helping to create a collaborative learning environment.

FIRST 90 DAYS AND BEYOND: HITTING YOUR STRIDE

  • Take ownership of complete features or modules, from design to deployment.

  • Assist in making technical decisions, suggesting improvements, and helping to set coding standards.

  • Develop skills to optimize code for performance, scalability, and efficiency.

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies and apply them when relevant.

  • Contribute to discussions about architecture improvements, scalability, and security.

  • Propose innovative solutions and ideas to improve processes, tools, or products.
