Role Description

Our Product Engineers are at the forefront of crafting seamless, intuitive user interfaces that millions rely on for data interaction and collaboration. At Dropbox, front-end engineers don’t just implement features—they help define them, ship them, and measure their impact. As part of a team driving key business growth, every UI you build directly influences core metrics like user acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization.

Leveraging advanced knowledge in technologies like TypeScript, React, CSS, and HTML, our engineers ensure Dropbox's platforms are responsive, accessible, and deliver exceptional experiences at scale. With a focus on optimization, experimentation, and innovation, Product Engineers play a critical role in evolving Dropbox’s offerings—making digital storage and collaboration more efficient, delightful, and impactful for users around the world.

Our Engineering Career Framework is viewable by anyone outside the company and describes what’s expected for our engineers at each of our career levels. Check out our blog post on this topic and more here.

Responsibilities

  • Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use

  • Translate designs and wireframes from Figma into high quality code

  • Optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers

  • Work on integrations with calendar services, project management platforms, and to-do list trackers

  • Support backend development from time-to-time as needed

  • Collaborate with a scrappy, small team to build the future of time management!

Many teams at Dropbox run Services with on-call rotations, which entails being available for calls during both core and non-core business hours. If a team has an on-call rotation, all engineers on the team are expected to participate in the rotation as part of their employment. Applicants are encouraged to ask for more details of the rotations to which the applicant is applying.

  • Ability to work across the stack on projects and able to build a minimum working product quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering high-impact features in fast-paced, high-growth environments, with a strong sense of ownership over both technical and product outcomes.
