About Us:

CALSTART is a mission-driven industry organization focused on transportation decarbonization and clean air for all.

For over 30 years, it’s been CALSTART’s mission to develop, assess, and implement large-scale, zero-emission transportation solutions to mitigate climate change and support economic growth. CALSTART works with businesses, organizations, governments, and communities to create real-life impact toward clean air and equitable access to clean transportation for all. CALSTART provides scientific, technical and policy support for regulatory development and clean technology and infrastructure acceleration.

About The Role:

CALSTART is seeking a visionary and results-driven Senior Director of Salesforce Strategy & Solutions to lead the modernization, integration, and strategic oversight of the organization’s enterprise systems. This executive-level role will unify CALSTART’s fragmented digital platforms—including over 11 Salesforce environments—and ensure all technology infrastructure is scalable, secure, and aligned with the organization’s growing portfolio of clean transportation incentive programs.

What You'll Do:

  • Salesforce Systems Leadership: Lead the consolidation and strategic alignment of over 11 Salesforce orgs (Experience Cloud, Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Pardot).

  • Oversee system architecture, security, scalability, and user access for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Optimize Salesforce licensing, integrations, and environments to reduce cost and improve usability. Cross-Platform Integration & Strategy

  • Integrate Salesforce with third-party systems such as Formstack, Sage (Finance), Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence), and member/marketing CRMs.

  • Drive interoperability across platforms, building a cohesive digital ecosystem that supports real-time data sharing, API connectivity, and program responsiveness. User Experience & Program Enablement

  • Guide development of multilingual, ADA-compliant public portals using Salesforce Experience Cloud.

  • Enable program teams with automated workflows, dashboards, and real-time reporting tools to increase transparency and efficiency. Governance, Risk, and Compliance

  • Establish and manage data governance protocols across Salesforce environments, including sandbox/testing policies, rollback safeguards, and change control.

  • Lead cybersecurity efforts specific to Salesforce environments and ensure alignment with evolving grant and regulatory requirements. Team and Vendor Leadership

  • Manage and grow an internal Salesforce team of admins, developers, and architects; coordinate with contractors and vendors for advanced deployments.

  • Provide executive-level accountability and insights on Salesforce investments, ensuring measurable impact and alignment with organizational goals.

What You'll Bring To The Table:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise technology leadership, with a focus on Salesforce platform strategy and implementation.

  • Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-org Salesforce environments across Sales, Service, Marketing, and Experience Clouds.

  • Strong background in system integration, data governance, and security best practices within Salesforce.

  • Experience working with high-volume public incentive, grants, or enterprise service platforms.

  • Effective leadership, communication, and project management skills across cross-functional teams.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Administrator, Platform App Builder, Integration Architecture Designer).

  • Experience implementing public-facing portals and workflows for government- or grant-funded programs.

  • Familiarity with ADA compliance, multilingual content deployment, and public sector security protocols.
