About the Role:
Cyderes is looking for a dedicated, creative, and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join the Managed Services Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for automating everything, identifying opportunities for optimization/stability, and exploring new ideas to better our services and products. You should have experience working efficiently on small teams, being flexible in filling roles, and a strong understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP). The position requires experience with CI/CD workflows, scripted automation, metric gathering and analysis, and supportive tooling related to big data operations. Candidates must be able to establish and enforce strong security practices and have a willingness to learn and provide feedback on upcoming technologies. Additionally, this role will be responsible for and help in the creation of our underlying Cyderes platforms, ensure the highest level of quality and stability of the platform, and integrate with developers to get functionality out as fast and stable as possible.
Candidate should also bring the right attitude to the team including accountability, ownership, and positivity. Responsibilities:
Run, maintain, and improve the Cyderes managed cloud environments
Help lead initiatives for improving system reliability
Troubleshoot and remediate any system/automation issues
Maintain and support production Kubernetes environments
Mentor other DevOps Engineers to improve team efficiencies and help to solve complex problems
Work with Engineering Leadership to keep projects and deliverables on track
Take part in both internal and external user outreach
Collaborate with internal teams to improve CI/CD processes and procedures
Regularly take part in architecture and roadmap meetings with leadership
Document and standardize engineering procedures
Creation and maintenance of automation (tooling/scripting) to assist in the deployment and ongoing support of Cyderes cloud-managed infrastructure
Contribute towards MVPs/PoCs for proposed tooling and management solutions
Participate in all team scrum ceremonies
Participate in technical discussions and work with the team to design robust, secure, monitored, and well-maintained systems
Support a 24x7 team on-call rotation for production / infrastructure incidents
Engage in code review to ensure high-quality code standards and foster knowledge sharing
Apply best practices in cybersecurity to safeguard Cyderes applications from potential threats and vulnerabilities, remediating concerns across our cloud platforms
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years in Development/SE/SRE/DevOps
Proficiency in investigative analysis of CI/CD pipelines and backend systems
Practical knowledge of containerization and orchestration, specifically Kubernetes and Docker and related tools (helm, kubectl).
Expertise in state configuration (Terraform, Salt, Ansible, Puppet, Chef) knowledge
Proficient in cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and GCP
Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as GitHub, GitHub Actions
Understands best practices throughout the SDLC, encompassing code standards, PR reviews, build processes, testing and deployments
Upholds core values of accountability, integrity, empathy, and responsiveness
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Capability to collaborate effectively, even in challenging scenarios
Practiced in agile methodologies, particularly scrum
Demonstrated skills in delivering high quality code that is maintainable and readable
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related field
Strong knowledge of database technologies (Postgres SQL, MySql)
9+ years working in the Development/SE/SRE/DevOps fields
Experience with virtualization hypervisors (VMWare, Microsoft Hyper-V, XenServer)
Source control and CI/CD (ArgoCD, Jenkins, GitHub, Spinnaker, Concourse CI, etc.) knowledge
Acquainted with observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog.
