Scopely is looking for a Senior Data Analytics Engineer to join our Monopoly GO! team in the US on a remote basis!

Monopoly GO! is a key franchise that has become Scopely’s largest game, enjoyed by millions of players. The team is based across Canada, Europe, and the US, and works every day to create captivating new experiences for our players.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and collaborate with engineers, product teams, and analysts to develop self-serve insight products that are responsive, precise, and scalable at petabyte levels

  • Oversee the entire data product lifecycle, including designing new tracking plans, developing data models, ELT pipelines (Fivetran, Lambda Functions), and self-serve insight products such as Looker Explores and dashboards

  • Act as a guardian of data quality, ensuring consistent metric reporting across a wide range of data products

  • Utilize cutting-edge technology stack including BigQuery, dbt, Airflow and Looker

  • Provide technical leadership and partner with game product teams and departments to enhance their daily operations and product success

  • Bring deep expertise in a specific part of the data stack while contributing broadly across all aspects

  • Mentor team members and drive the adoption of best practices within the team

What We’re Looking For:  

  • A strong passion for solving complex analytical puzzles

  • Proven ability to translate business needs into advanced analytics solutions

  • Deep expertise with the modern data stack (BigQuery, dbt, Looker, Airflow, GitHub, command line workflows)

  • Exceptional SQL skills coupled with at least 5 years of relevant experience in data analytics or engineering roles

  • Solid understanding of data modeling principles (e.g., Kimball methodology, star schemas)

  • A balance of business context awareness and a drive for technical excellence

  • An inclination towards collaboration and pride in contributing to high-functioning teams

  • Comfort working in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments

  • A sense of fun at work, with extracurricular interests like Ping Pong or Mario Kart seen as a bonus!

Bonus Points:

  • Proven experience integrating and configuring observability tools such as Bugsnag and Datadog for real-time error tracking, performance monitoring, and alerting.

  • Solid background in connecting and managing NoSQL databases, OpenSearch clusters, Kibana dashboards, and API-driven data sources. 

  • Skill in normalizing diverse data formats and enabling seamless data exploration through intuitive dashboards and interfaces.

  • Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing data infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). 

  • Proficient with core services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Composer, ensuring scalable and secure data pipelines aligned with best practices for performance and cost-efficiency. 

  • Experienced in configuring IAM (Identity and Access Management) policies to enforce least-privilege access, manage service accounts, and ensure data governance across environments.
