Where And How You Can Work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney, Australia but we engage our Contractors all over the world to help us meet our crazy big goals. As a Contractor at Canva you can work remotely in from anywhere in Mexico, meaning you have ultimate flexibility. Wherever works for you, works for us. Please note, this is a 6-month contract of full-time hours, but you’ll need to balance your schedule to accommodate occasional global team meetings from time to time.   

What You’d Be Doing In This Role

We’re looking for a Senior Creative Specialist to help shape how Canva shows up in Mexico, leading our strategy across performance and brand. On the performance side, you’ll drive our work on TikTok, Meta, YouTube, and Pinterest, uncovering insights, analyzing what’s working, and developing new concepts and creative directions. You’ll also help shape how Canva shows up more broadly in Mexico, guiding strategy for product launches, partnerships, and brand moments that matter. You’ll work closely with our Creative Director and marketing leadership to build the strategic foundation for our campaigns, and collaborate day-to-day with a talented team of designers, motion artists, and editors to bring bold, thoughtful, effective ideas to life.

This is a role for someone who is just as obsessed with creativity as they are with data and knows how to use both to create work that connects and campaigns that people want to watch.

  • Own the end-to-end creative strategy process turning research, competitor intel, creative instinct, and performance data into new top-performing ads

  • You’re a strong writer who can distill complex ideas into clear, compelling copy.

  • Write smart, clear creative briefs rooted in insight, data, and opportunity.

  • Lead the end-to-end process of turning cultural and audience insights, performance data, and business goals into compelling ad concepts.

  • Analyze creative performance across channels, distill insights, and use findings to continuously improve output.

  • Stay on top of the latest trends, techniques, and platforms, using them to inspire fresh creative ideas.

You're probably a match if

  • 5-7 years of experience in a strategic or hybrid creative/strategy role, ideally at a creative agency, media agency, or brand.

  • Deep understanding of the Mexican cultural, social, and media landscape.

  • Strong understanding of ad performance metrics and how to translate data into actionable creative insights

  • Proven ability to build strategic narratives and turn them into creative that performs.

  • Experience working on global brands, with a strong understanding of local cultural nuance and how to adapt global campaigns for local relevance.

  • Experience building creative briefs and guiding projects from ideation to execution.

  • Native-level Spanish and strong English skills (we’re a global team, so English will be part of your everyday).

  • This is a remote role with flexible working hours, but you’ll need to balance your schedule to accommodate occasional global team meetings in the evening (6-9 PM)
