Senior Copywriter

GEICO Marketing's Creative Services department is looking for an experienced Senior Copywriter to help lead the marketing of one of the nation's most-recognized brands. Under supervision of the Creative Lead, you will coordinate and write copy for digital and social platforms, along with supporting copy needs for email, direct mail, print ads, outdoor advertising and communication projects directed to current and prospective customers. You will create original concepts for marketing campaigns (not responsible for Broadcast campaign ideation) working individually and as a part of a creative team. You provide a keen creative eye of Brand cohesion across all platforms, to ensure synergy and fluency across the Creative Team's output.

This role reports into the Creative Lead of Creative Services and will potentially manage a direct report.

Qualifications

• 5+ years copywriting experience Client or Agency side
• Strong understanding of Performance creative, and writing data-driven copy for Programmatic Display and Paid Social content
• Experience in writing targeted marketing/sales copy, direct mail, email and social media
• Ability to take strategic messaging and RTBs (reason to believe / reason to buy) to create effective copy
• Direct experience with digital, social, and lower funnel platforms versus traditional upper funnel
• Familiarity with the AP Stylebook (a plus)
• Native fluency in Latin American Spanish (a plus)
• Familiarity with writing for CRM platforms (a plus)

Core Responsibilities

• Writes performance copy for Programmatic Display and Paid Social advertising (Facebook, Instagram, etc.); copy support for email and CRM platforms
• Creates original concepts for marketing campaigns, working individually and as a part of a creative team.
• Work with analysts to continually monitor copy testing and performance to optimize results.
• Consults and advises internal clients concerning project requirements
• Writes, proofreads, and edits original copy for projects requested by Marketing associates and other internal clients
• Partners with Art and Design to build creative executions / assets
• Coordinates and manages project files associated with creative campaigns
• Coordinates with required GEICO departments, including General Counsel and external agencies, to gain final approval and complete projects
• Works closely with the Creative Project Manager to ensure projects stay on track and are delivered on time, with excellence
• Supervises and trains junior Copywriter/s on copy best practices, project management processes, systems, and tools employed by the Creative Services division
• Reviews, revises, and rewrites as necessary all forms and direct mail packages as they come up for reprint
• Responsible for ensuring error-free copy through development and leadership approval
• Works with external direct mail vendors to quality control copy and data variables and approve signoffs.
