As a Senior Content Designer, you’ll define and elevate the content vision and strategy across multiple product areas or an entire product line. You’ll provide strategic direction, hands-on mentorship, and content leadership to product and design teams, driving clarity and consistency at scale.

Partnering with cross-functional leaders, you’ll identify high-impact opportunities, solve complex language challenges, and deliver innovative content solutions that shape user experiences and drive business growth. You'll influence product roadmaps and organizational priorities through a content-first lens, while establishing scalable content principles, patterns, and best practices—especially in emerging areas like AI and automation.

You’ll translate complex business goals into actionable strategies, build strong partnerships across Product, Engineering, Research, and Marketing, and advocate for user needs at the executive level. As a culture carrier, you’ll champion content excellence and help grow a world-class design organization by attracting and developing top talent.

What You’ll Do

  • Define & Champion Strategic Product-Led Growth

    • Define, articulate, and champion the overarching content vision and strategy that directly drives transformative product-led growth across an entire product portfolio or strategic business unit.

    • Set the strategic direction for leveraging AI and automation in content experiences, identifying opportunities for competitive differentiation, new market creation, and exponential user value, ultimately ensuring sustainable business growth through smart, scalable content.

    • Own the holistic user journey from a content perspective and ensure content design contributes meaningfully to core business objectives (e.g., user acquisition, activation, retention, revenue).

  •  Build & Lead Cross-Functional Partnerships

    • Build and nurture executive-level partnerships with Product, Engineering, Research, Marketing, and Business Leadership to influence product roadmaps, organizational priorities, and overall company strategy through the lens of content.

    • Guide and empower design and content teams to collaborate effectively with engineering leadership, defining content and language implications of design decisions, especially for complex AI/ML systems and highly automated workflows.

  • Cultivate User Empathy & Design Excellence

    • Instill a deep culture of user empathy across the organization, advocating for the user's comprehension and information needs at the highest strategic levels and ensuring content decisions are rooted in profound customer understanding.

    • Establish and evolve enterprise-level content principles, standards, and best practices across the design and product organizations, ensuring a cohesive, intuitive, and highly refined content experience that considers the unique challenges and opportunities of AI/automation in user interfaces and content generation.

    • Provide critical feedback and guidance to maintain the highest quality content deliverables across the team and broader product organization.

  • Elevate Design Craft & Systemic Impact

    • Set the bar for content design excellence and innovation, leveraging a masterful command of user-centered content design methodologies, content strategy, and UX writing principles, including cutting-edge applications of AI, generative content, and content automation, to solve the most ambiguous and impactful language and communication problems.

    • Own the vision, strategy, and evolution of the content guidelines, patterns, and documentation within the enterprise-level design system, ensuring it is a scalable, robust, and indispensable asset for content efficiency, consistency, and innovation across the entire product ecosystem, guiding its adaptation for future AI/ML applications and content generation.

    • Oversee the development of consistent voice and tone across all product touchpoints and service experiences, ensuring strong alignment with brand and marketing efforts.

  • Inspire & Influence Design Organization

    • Serve as a key strategic partner and influencer for Product, Engineering, User Research, and Marketing leadership, shaping company-wide initiatives and ensuring content design has a voice at every strategic table.

    • Articulate complex, often undefined strategic communication problems and content solutions with unparalleled clarity and persuasive influence to executive stakeholders, fostering a truly innovative and AI-first content culture.

    • Mentor, coach, and inspire content designers and product designers on content-related matters, fostering their professional growth, advocating for their needs, and shaping the next generation of content leaders.

  • Drive Organizational Scalability & Efficiency

    • Define and implement content design processes, tools, and strategies that optimize the entire product development lifecycle for scalability, maintainability, and maximum organizational impact, actively leading initiatives for content automation and AI-driven efficiencies.

    • Champion product-led content strategies that enable exponential self-service adoption and minimize reliance on human intervention, through intuitive instructional design and clear messaging.

  • Pioneer Innovation & Future Vision

    • Anticipate future trends and technological shifts, particularly in AI, human-computer interaction, and product-led growth strategies, to define and champion innovative content solutions that position the company as a market leader.

    • Orchestrate advanced user research initiatives related to content and collaborate strategically with research leadership to uncover foundational insights, address complex challenges like AI explainability, bias mitigation, and user trust in language, and drive breakthrough innovation in content experiences.

    • Direct the development of visionary content prototypes and strategic proofs-of-concept that push the boundaries of user experience, validate new market opportunities, and demonstrate the transformative power of AI/automation in creating novel user interactions and content capabilities.

About You

  • 5 - 9+ years in content strategy, UX writing, or content design (2+ years in a lead role), with a bachelor’s in English, HCI, Communications, or related field—or equivalent experience.

  • Strong portfolio showing strategic content leadership across platforms, business impact, and content culture contributions.

  • Deep expertise in user-centered content design and research methodologies, including tool evaluation, CMS, and AI content systems.

  • Skilled in defining research strategies and leading strategic content insights in collaboration with Research teams.

  • Exceptional communicator with proven ability to influence VP-level stakeholders and build strong cross-functional partnerships.

  • Visionary in UX writing, accessibility, ethical content design, and systems governance—able to define and scale enterprise content standards. Experienced in leveraging AI and automation in content strategy, and driving product-led growth through content.

  • Confident facilitator with Design Thinking expertise, and thrives in ambiguity, working autonomously on multiple initiatives.

  • Experience with the financial technology (fintech) industry, legaltech industry, or SaaS products.
