We’re seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing finance and accounting team!
As a Senior Accountant, you will not only be responsible for helping the accounting team close the books on a monthly basis and report timely and accurate financial results for the company but you will also be involved in ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives. You’ll work directly on the core accounting team, and be a business partner to the tax, accounts payable, technical accounting/financial reporting, financial planning & analysis teams, and various other cross-functional teams.
In this role you’ll get to:
Perform month end closing activities and reconciliations for various accounts/processes. Areas of focus may include but would not be limited to: partner commissions, sales commissions, capitalized software, accrued expenses, AR reserve, and more
Gain broad exposure across the accounting function and its various responsibilities via cross training, obtaining a depth of accounting experience that will be challenging to find at most companies
Prepare journal entries and reconcile account balances, ensuring to maintain accurate supporting records and documentation
Assist with monthly/quarterly/annual balance sheet and P&L flux analyses
Prepare documentation/support needed for SOX compliance
Assist Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team with explaining budget v. actual variances
Take on review responsibilities of certain staff accountant work and projects, with growth potential for direct reporting responsibilities down the line
Assist with preparation of audit and review packages for external auditors
Help with ad hoc projects across all aspects of the accounting function
Assist with project management and implementation testing of various system and spreadsheet automations and other continuous improvement efforts
We are looking for people who have:
Accounting degree from college or university
3-5 years at public accounting firm and/or Tech Accounting roles
CPA preferred, or planned path to obtain CPA license
Proficiency in Excel is required, Netsuite a plus
Desire to constantly be learning and improve skills and knowledge
Big picture mindset to understand the impact of technical accounting decisions on the organization
Willingness to roll-up your sleeves when work needs to get done
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
Strong oral and written skills and the ability to communicate
