Security Engineer
Position Summary:
The Cybersecurity Engineer designs, implements, and maintains our cybersecurity systems, ensuring the highest levels of protection against cyber threats. They work alongside a dynamic team to use infrastructure as code principles to deploy cloud-based solutions, assess vulnerabilities, develop security strategies, and lead incident response efforts.
Essential Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):
Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies that align with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and specific client needs.
Work on implementing modern security solutions utilizing IaC principles utilizing Terraform and other tooling.
Work to design and implement complex solutions covering a multitenant EntraID environment.
Implement security tools to support our security architecture, including but not limited to, email security, cloud security, identity system, and endpoint security.
Work with vendors and partners to take full advantage of systems, services, and support options available to the business; Participate in engagements to expand upon current platforms and explore new ones that may meet business requirements.
Create new and update existing documentation regarding security-related platforms.
Coordinate and maintain security toolsets to support our continuous monitoring of our enterprise and cloud environments.
Maintain detailed documentation of security configurations, incident reports, and procedures.
Provide technical leadership and coordination for security incidents, including as a part of an after-hours coverage rotation.
Collaborate with the Tech Services department, other engineers, and third-party vendors to align security measures with business needs.
Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:
2-4 years in a cybersecurity role with hands-on experience in implementing security solutions.
Strong understanding of cloud security and identity management in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Strong understanding of core Security Operations tools such as SIEM, EDR, XDR, CSPM, etc.
Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, the threat landscape, and emerging trends.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to team efforts.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry advancements.
Required Education & Certifications:
B.A./B.S. in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity) or equivalent work experience
Compensation:
Qualified candidates can expect a compensation range of $100,000/yr to $120,000/yr depending on experience.
