Security Consultant - Vulnerability Management

About the Role:
As a Consultant at Cyderes, you will independently conduct vulnerability assessments, interpret scan results, and collaborate with client IT teams to support patching and mitigation efforts. This role involves managing day-to-day vulnerability operations with increasing autonomy in analysis, reporting, and client engagement.
Responsibilities:
Independently conduct vulnerability assessments across diverse client environments and platforms.
Analyze scan results, assess risk levels, and provide actionable remediation guidance.
Collaborate with client IT teams and stakeholders to support patching, mitigation, and clarify findings.
Deliver high-quality customer engagements, ensuring clear communication, timely delivery, and alignment with client expectations.
Provide consulting expertise to clients on vulnerability management best practices, threat exposure, and remediation strategies.
Ensure compliance with SLAs, KPIs, and managed service commitments for MSS deliverables.
Contribute to the development and refinement of playbooks, SOPs, and operational documentation.
Support continuous improvement of scanning, reporting, and triage workflows.
Requirements:
Working knowledge of vulnerability management lifecycle and Tanium.
Hands-on experience with VM platforms and SIEM/ITSM integrations.
Communication skills to translate technical findings into client-ready outputs.
5+ years in cybersecurity consulting.
One or more relevant certifications (CEH, GSEC, or vendor-specific certification in a VMS product (e.g. Qualys Certified Specialist)).
