SaaS Sales Development Representative
Canopy Connect is building the infrastructure that powers best-in-class insurance experiences. We empower consumers to gain value and convenience from their own data, and we enable businesses to securely and quickly support their customers.
We’re recruiting creative, resilient, and ambitious Sales Development Representatives to join as the first members of our SDR team. This team will focus on selling to insurance agencies which use Canopy Connect's insurance infrastructure to quote faster and manage their books more efficiently.
We expect that successful SDRs will transition into closing roles quickly.
The OTE range for this position is $70K-$100K/yr., DOE. This position is full-time remote with option to work in Eastern, Central, Mountain, or Pacific time zones.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, research, and reach out to potential customers through email, phone, and social channels.
Leverage prospecting tools to find contact information for potential buyers at existing Target Accounts and identify new Target Accounts based on anticipated fit
Assist with creation of sales enablement/marketing materials and proactively suggest new strategies and technologies we should be using
Perform competitive analysis to ensure Canopy Connect remains the premiere vendor in our space
Stay abreast of market trends (executive job changes, funding rounds, conferences) to identify possible routes to engage with prospects
Act as the voice of the customer internally; relay feedback to leadership on product features, pricing, and trends
About you:
Strong cold calling abilities.
6-12mo. experience in a BDR, SDR, or similar role
Track record of hitting or exceeding meetings-booked quota
Team player: selling is a team sport and you can play well with your teammates
Fluency in (or ability to self-learn) Hubspot, LinkedIn, Loom, Gong/Chorus, and other marketing automation and sales enablement tools
Stellar written/verbal communication skills: you can speak confidently but also demonstrate humility and empathy, both internally and externall
Bonus points for:
Familiarity with sales frameworks like Challenger
Active participation in sales community such as Pavilion (formerly Revenue Collective) or OnDeck
Experience at a company selling APIs and/or data (vs. a platform)
Experience in insurance, payments, banking, FinTech, and/or InsurTech
Experience in MarTech or SalesTech
Experience at a hyper-growth startup that scaled substantially during your tenure
Cold calling the Head of Revenue at Canopy Connect (our last hire booked set up multiple meetings with our team).
