SGBFF is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented temporary Research Associate to support our work on Women in the Workplace - the largest study of its kind on women in corporate America. This is a short-term position that runs from August to October 2025.

In this role, you’ll contribute to analyzing quantitative data, translating insights into compelling narratives, and supporting the development of research products that advance equity in the workplace and beyond. You’ll collaborate closely with researchers, writers, designers, and cross-functional partners to ensure our work is accurate, inclusive, and accessible to broad audiences.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in quantitative social science research, a sharp eye for detail, and a passion for telling data-driven stories that center women, especially those from traditionally marginalized communities. If you thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and are eager to contribute to meaningful research that drives change, we’d love to hear from you.

What You Will Do

  • Work with the writing team to translate data into compelling narratives and research products

  • Work with the design team to create compelling data visualizations

  • Conduct background research to uncover and present key findings on specific topics related to women and work, including women from traditionally marginalized groups

  • Support the research team in a wide range of tasks and be responsive to changing needs

  • Ensure the accuracy of all final research products

  • Support the research team in engaging diverse stakeholders to develop inclusive research products

  • Work with internal, cross-functional partners to fact-check the accuracy of data used in web copy, social posts, and other content we create and share with our community

What You Will Bring

  • 1-2  years of quantitative social science research experience

  • Firm grasp of survey research methodology and basic statistics

  • Proficiency with MS Excel and/or Google Sheets

  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to communicate academic research to lay audiences

  • Strong organization and attention to detail across multiple workstreams

  • Ability to adapt quickly, juggle multiple competing priorities, and thrive on new challenges

  • Willingness to take on small but essential tasks with a positive attitude and professional poise

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, and flexibility to work outside typical business hours

  • Familiarity with one or more of the following is a plus: gender research, longitudinal research, mixed methods research, data visualization, statistical analysis software (SPSS, R,  STATA, etc.)

  • Ability to learn, follow through, and improve on foundation processes to support the team; thrives on new challenges

  • Demonstrated understanding of how to drive toward more intersectional and inclusive approaches in work products and outcomes

  • Shared appreciation for and commitment to the mission and work of Lean In, Lean In Girls, Option B, and the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program

  • Commitment to being a strong advocate for equity, inclusion, and uplifting marginalized voices

What We Will Offer You

  • The base salary for this role varies by location: $62,100-$66,600 (National) / $69,000-$74,000 (Bay Area/New York Metro), with the final amount depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.

  • A remote-first work environment with flexible scheduling.

  • A mission-driven team that values inclusion, collaboration, and growth.

Important Information

  • This is a short-term position with an anticipated duration of three months.

  • Applications are due by July 18, 2025 - early submission is encouraged. Cover letters are highly encouraged as well.

  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

  • If your application is a good match, our team will reach out to schedule an interview. If you're no longer under consideration, you'll receive an email update.
