Check is seeking a dedicated Research Analyst (Part-Time) to join our team. In this role, you'll contribute to impactful research projects. We're seeking a curious, detail-oriented individual eager to make a significant difference.
In this role, you will:
Research and Track: Identify and monitor payroll requirements for calculation and reporting at the state and local levels.
Assist: Contribute to 50-state research projects by investigating requirements and updating databases.
Analyze: Perform lightweight analysis and interpretation of payroll tax requirements as needed.
Collect and Review: Gather and verify payroll data to ensure accuracy based on project requirements.
Utilize: Employ research tools and methodologies to maintain an updated database reflecting changes in payroll tax and reporting requirements.
Many backgrounds could fit this role, but ideal candidates will have some or all of the following:
Experience in research, preferably in tax or payroll
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Understanding of the payroll or tax sector
Flexibility and adaptability to new research tools and methodologies
Proficiency with databases or spreadsheets
Basic data analysis and interpretation skills
Attention to detail in data collection
This is a part-time position, with 20 hours per week expected.
What we offer:
The hourly compensation for this role is dependent on each candidate’s experience, qualifications, and work location:
The expected range in San Francisco, NYC, LA, and Seattle is between $21 and $23.
The expected range for all other locations is between $18 and $20.
