The Company

Simply put, SpryPoint provides Smart Solutions for Smart Utilities.

Founded in 2011, SpryPoint is a leading provider of cloud-based solutions for the utility sector. Our team of experts has extensive experience serving utilities across North America, and we are dedicated to helping our clients improve their operations and better serve their customers. Our solutions include advanced billing and customer relationship management tools, as well as powerful analytics and data management capabilities. We are proud to have been recognized by industry experts and our clients alike for the value and innovation we bring to the market.

In February of 2023, SpryPoint received a strategic investment from Norwest, a leading venture and growth equity investment firm. With this investment, SpryPoint will build on its significant business momentum over the past three years, expanding its team and positioning the company to continue increasing market share of its mission-critical, cloud-native solutions for smart utilities.

Position Overview:

As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we seek a skilled and driven Recruiter to join our team and play a pivotal role in bringing our recruiting efforts in-house. This will be the second recruiter hired for SpryPoint and will report directly to our Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition.

As a Recruiter at SpryPoint, you will be the first point of contact for talent acquisition, responsible for shaping our workforce in alignment with our company's vision and goals. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, providing insights and expertise to attract top-tier talent to fuel our company's growth. As you will be the second in-house recruiter, you will need to help create job interview SOPs, create sourcing strategies, post jobs, screen candidates, lead first-round screening of applicants, manage all candidate communications and scheduling, as well as support offer negotiations and handoff to our in-house People team after offer acceptance.  This offers the unique opportunity to support all teams and departments as-needed (with a focus on our customer-facing teams) and gradually transition into a specialized area as the business scales.

Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Recruitment: Lead the end-to-end recruitment process for assigned positions, including sourcing, scheduling, screening, interviewing, and selecting top candidates.

  • Talent Sourcing: Develop innovative and strategic sourcing strategies to identify and attract qualified candidates using a variety of channels, including job boards, social media, networking events, and referrals. Build relationships with university co-op programs and support our Co-Op hiring program.

  • Technical Expertise: Understand and effectively communicate the technical aspects of job roles to candidates, ensuring a solid match between candidate skills and company needs.

  • Candidate Experience: Provide an exceptional candidate experience by maintaining clear communication, setting expectations, and facilitating a smooth interview process and handoff of the candidate to the People Ops team after receiving accepted offers.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with hiring managers and department heads to understand hiring needs, develop job descriptions, and establish hiring criteria.

  • Employer Branding: Support SpryPoint's employer brand and promote our unique company culture to potential candidates.

  • Diversity and Inclusion: Champion diversity and inclusion in recruitment practices, ensuring a diverse candidate pool and a fair and unbiased hiring process.

  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilize data and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and make data-driven recommendations for process improvement.

Qualifications & competencies:

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in recruitment; in-house experience at a high-growth SaaS company is preferred. Customer-facing experience in SaaS (Sales Development Rep, Onboarding Specialist, Customer Success Associate, etc.) will also be considered.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively assess candidates and position opportunities.

  • Adaptability: Willingness to adapt and learn in a fast-paced startup environment while contributing to various recruitment needs.

  • Collaboration: Proven ability to build strong working relationships with hiring managers, interviewers, and more.

  • Results-oriented: Track record of meeting or exceeding recruitment goals and targets with a strong sense of urgency

  • Location: Based in Canada. This is a remote-first position with occasional travel (5% for company events/team gatherings).

Employee Benefits and Perks:

  • Remote-first and autonomous working environment

  • Flexible working hours

  • Competitive Salary and Commissions

  • $500 towards your home office setup

  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance

  • Book bounty program, get reimbursed $100 for each book read and reviewed (from our library)

  • Professional development courses + $2,500 tuition assistance annually

  • Summer Fridays (1/2 day Fridays!)

  • Employee referral program: $2,000 per new FTE hired

  • Snacks and drinks (☕🍺🥤) in our HQ on Prince Edward Island

  • Annual company/team offsite

  • Dress for your day - wear what works for you at work
