QA Analyst - Monopoly GO!
Scopely is looking for a QA Analyst to join our Monopoly Go! team in the US on a remote basis.
At Scopely, we care deeply about what we do and want to inspire play, every day - whether in our work environments alongside our talented colleagues, or through our deep connections with our communities of players. We are a global team of game lovers who are developing, publishing and innovating the mobile games industry, connecting millions of people around the world daily.
Monopoly GO! is our new casual game and a key franchise that has just become one of Scopely’s largest games enjoyed by millions of players. The team is based in Europe and the US, and works every day to create captivating new experiences for our players.
What You Will Do
Reporting to your Vertical Group QA Lead, you will play a vital role in upholding quality standards within one of Monopoly Go’s tightly integrated teams, known as a Pod. Collaborating with both internal and external partners, you’ll support regular feature and content releases, from initial concept through to post-release support, ensuring that the highest quality is maintained throughout.
As a key advocate for quality at Scopely, you will help shape our ongoing commitment to excellence.
Ensure your pod’s contributions to each release meet the highest standard of quality, focusing on both defect prevention and overall user experience, while also maintaining a broad, holistic view of release quality across the wider team
Develop clear and comprehensive test plans that define scope of coverage, accurate time estimates, resourcing needs, tooling / cheat needs, and any wider requirements to support testing from concept through to release
Drive the creation, upkeep, and execution of test suites and cases tailored to your pod’s specific needs and evolving scope
Maintain a clean and prioritized bug database in alignment with your pod’s work
Lead the onboarding of external embedded QA resources into your pod, ensuring they are set up for success and aligned with internal processes, while fostering a strong working relationship to remain aligned on priorities at all times
Take ownership of your pod’s quality output by leading through example, performing hands-on testing, and ensuring accountability at all stages of development
Raise pre-production quality concerns by reviewing briefs and design documents, championing a ‘shift left’ attitude
Facilitate pod-specific playtests to gather broader feedback, track issues effectively, and ensure follow-up actions are taken where needed
Collaborate with Customer Support and the Live & Release teams to investigate live issues, advocating for timely resolutions while addressing root causes to prevent recurrence
Adhere to team-wide QA governance and best practices, ensuring full alignment with the project’s QA lifecycle from inception through post-release support
Actively participate in pod and QA team ceremonies, providing feedback and staying aligned with team strategies and direction
Collaborate closely with developers to understand changes in scope and assess cross-functional impacts that may require additional quality control
Monitor holistic app health metrics such as ANRs and crash rates, particularly following your pod’s contributions to a release, and act accordingly to mitigate issues
Take part in annual reviews by offering feedback to peers and managers, while also using the opportunity to reflect and grow professionally
Embody and promote Scopely’s core tenets through your actions, communication, and leadership
What We’re Looking For
Strong verbal / written communication and an excellent attention to detail
Strong time management, accountability and organisational skills
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to effectively advocate for your team’s needs, while maintaining a clear understanding of business priorities to ensure balanced, mutually beneficial outcomes
Proactive, enthusiastic and self-motivated
Flexible to an agile setup with the ability to multitask, managing coverage for multiple high profile releases with strict deadlines
A strong commercial awareness with an understanding of business priorities and goals
Exceptional reporting capabilities
Extensive knowledge of JIRA and / or similar bug tracking systems
Mobile exposure and an understanding of Apple / Google submission protocol
