Product Marketing Manager, Military Flight Operations

Company:

Jeppesen Sanderson Inc

Imagine applying your product marketing skills to a market that constantly pushes the boundaries of what is possible in aviation. At Jeppesen ForeFlight, our vision is flawless flight, and our mission in military flight operations is to provide the world’s best pilots with everything they need to keep operations informed, organized, and in sync.

We are seeking an experienced product marketer who will illuminate our Military Flight Operations solutions to a skeptical and demanding customer base. This includes the fascinating and mission-critical Military Flight Bag, Military Charts, and Dispatch products among others. You would tell our story to the operators of fighter, bomber, transport, refueling, and rescue missions! The ideal candidate has a military aviation background, is familiar with the unique sales challenges with defense and government agencies and is an engaging communicator. Further, the ideal candidate has a record of successful collaboration with product management and sales to drive ACV growth.

Position responsibilities:

  • Asset creation: produce engaging written and video content that illustrates how our solutions make life easier for military flight operations. You should be comfortable producing a thousand words a month of written assets, and 20-40 minutes of video content each year by yourself, through content marketing, or an agency.

  • Demand Generation: Partner with our Growth Marketing and sales team to plan and execute programs to generate leads, including the development of marketing campaigns, content, and digital strategies.

  • Sales Enablement: Provide sales with the tools and resources needed to effectively sell our products, especially pitch decks and concise competitive responses. Identify and create messaging for specific personas and target customers.

  • Influencer and thought leadership: Collaborate with subject matter experts to create an editorial calendar that gets our point-of-view communicated, including ghost-writing articles and conducting written and video interviews on topics of importance to customers and investors.

Basic qualifications:

  • Experience in marketing and sales in defense and government environments.

  • Has a portfolio of published product marketing assets for B2B software, such as blogs, videos, pitch decks, guides, brochures, or similar items.

  • Experience presenting and demonstrating B2B software products at customer events such as conferences, webinars, and trade shows.

  • Experience collaborating with teams to produce positioning statements, messaging, and competitive responses for B2B software.

  • Passion for improving military flight operations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience as crew member or operations in a military aviation unit.

  • Excellent communication skills that demonstrate conciseness, creativity, and credibility.

  • Product marketing experience pitching complex enterprise software to skeptical audiences. Prior experience with ERP, workflow, or analytics is ideal.
