Product Manager - Usage and Provisioning Services
Position Summary:
The Product Manager develops the vision and strategy for the Usage and Provisioning Service within the Pax8 Platform. They work closely with other Product Managers, Engineers, UX designers, and business stakeholders to help define a roadmap that delivers value for both customers and the business. The Product Manager uses techniques such as design thinking, user testing, and experimentation to gain insights and build a strong understanding of our business and customers. They prioritize enhancements that will have the greatest impact and drive the strategy for the Usage and Provisioning Service products. The Product Manager creates product artifacts, manages backlogs, and participates in iterating product processes.
Essential Responsibilities:
Owns, communicates, and drives strategy for the usage and provisioning service product area to maximize our growth, speed-to-market, and value
Applies design and product thinking to create intuitive experiences and seamless customer journeys across the Marketplace, our services, and our External APIs
Be a subject matter expert in the cloud IT space with understanding of internal and external customers’ needs and trends
Manage relationships and technical integration with vendor provisioning and usage APIs (e.g., Microsoft, AWS), ensuring seamless service activation and accurate usage tracking
Collaborates closely with business stakeholders across the org to plan the right product improvements at the right time to meet a demonstrated market or business need
Collaborates to create product centric OKRs aligned with corporate goals, define measurable outcomes, and track progress toward them
In partnership with engineering define and track SLAs, error rates, and latency metrics for provisioning workflows and usage pipelines
Partner with engineering and support to resolve issues and improve system resilience
Ensure provisioning workflows are tightly integrated with the checkout experience and partner/vendor onboarding processes
Creates, socializes, and advocates the product roadmap
Uses qualitative feedback, quantitative analytics, and experimentation to drive product decisions and understand product performance at a product area and feature level
Independently writes clear agile epics and user stories to articulate new feature requirements to meet product delivery goals
Prioritizes work streams and guides execution. Ideates, user tests, writes clear stories, refines, solves problems, performs UAT, triages bugs, analyzes product data, and iterates
Leads agile ceremonies in collaboration with Engineering teams to ensure shared understanding of problems and solutions
Effectively communicates status, progress, and outcomes to senior management to clearly articulate how current work aligns with corporate objectives
Provides inputs to trade-off decisions to maximize value
Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:
At least three (3) years of experience in product management or an equivalent role
Working knowledge of how APIs and cloud services work, experience defining, launching, and iterating on RESTful APIs, including authentication, rate limiting, versioning, and documentation best practices is a plus
Ability to understand and influence backed architecture, microservices, and data pipelines. Experience working with monolith and microservice hybrid environments is a plus
Understanding of messaging systems, APIs, webhooks and various communication platforms (Teams, Slack, WhatsApp), as well as marketplace procurement and consumption is a plus
Scrupulous about value for the business; ability to articulate how and why a feature is expected to impact business objectives and what potential ROI may be
Experience with Agile/Scrum Software Development along with project management tools (Trello, Jira, Rally or equivalent) in a technical software development environment
Experience prioritizing product backlogs and working closely with software engineers to write and refine stories for sprint execution
Working knowledge of software delivery process, analytics best practice and tools, and website design principles
Comfort navigating complex systems and identifying root causes of bugs across multiple services and vendors
Exceptional project management and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple work streams across a variety of stakeholders
Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent documentation/communication skills
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and problem-solve with diverse people in different parts of the organization
Comfortable with ambiguity and can adapt to rapidly changing situations. Ability to distill key ideas out of brainstorming sessions and ambiguous top-level requirements.
Data-driven by nature with ability to make decisions when there is none
Track record of defining and delivering enhancements that drive outcomes
Keen design sense and strong empathy with our customers and vendors
Ability to manage competing resources and priorities
Ability to be a self-starter and work independently with a bias toward action

Required Education & Certifications:
B.A./B.S. in related field or equivalent work experience
Compensation:
Qualified candidates can expect a compensation range of $115,000 to $135,000 or more depending on experience.
