As the Hardware Product Manager at Hammerspace, you will lead the definition and delivery of hardware platforms that integrate our software into high-performance turnkey appliances. You’ll work cross-functionally with supply chain, engineering, and our benchmark team to design and deliver hardware systems optimized for performance, efficiency, and real-world AI and HPC workloads. You will also be responsible for managing the hardware price list and ensuring pricing aligns with business strategy and market competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and manage the product lifecycle of Hammerspace hardware appliances, from concept to end-of-life.

• Collaborate with engineering to translate software requirements into hardware design specifications.

• Partner with the benchmarking team to analyze performance data and design the most efficient hardware building blocks for both capacity and compute-intensive workloads.

• Work closely with supply chain and manufacturing partners to select components, optimize cost, and ensure availability.

• Manage and maintain the hardware price list to ensure alignment with company strategy, margin targets, and market dynamics.

• Evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., NVMe, DPUs, GPUs, flash modules) and incorporate them into next-gen system architectures.

• Define SKUs and create BOMs, product briefs, datasheets, and configuration guides.

• Partner with the marketing and sales teams to enable go-to-market strategies, pricing, and positioning.

• Act as the voice of the customer to ensure appliance designs meet real-world deployment needs and performance expectations.

• Support customer and field feedback loops to drive continuous product improvement.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in hardware product management, preferably in storage, networking, or compute platforms.

• Strong understanding of enterprise or HPC hardware technologies (e.g., NVMe, RDMA, DPUs, GPUs, x86 servers).

• Experience interpreting benchmark results to influence product design and optimization.

• Experience managing product pricing and working cross-functionally to support margin and revenue goals.

• Proven track record of working with ODMs, OEMs, and component vendors to build production-ready systems.

• Familiarity with Linux systems and hardware/software integration.

• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive hardware product execution with urgency and precision.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field desired; MBA a plus.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $180,000 to $210,000.
