We are looking for a Product Manager to join our Creation Engine pillar, the foundational teams that power Figma's canvas, rendering, performance, and extensions across all products. This role sits at the intersection of cutting-edge web technology, creative tools, and AI innovation, building the systems that make Figma feel magical while handling immense technical complexity behind the scenes.
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you'll do at Figma:
Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for foundational rendering, animation, and developer experience systems in alignment with company goals and user needs
Lead the development of advanced interactive capabilities within Figma's design ecosystem, ensuring compatibility across various environments
Drive initiatives to evaluate and integrate LLMs, focusing on establishing effective communication systems and performance measurement frameworks for AI-powered design tools
Oversee version control systems, tracking how user changes are stored, restored, reviewed, and compared over time
Optimize core performance of Figma in browser and desktop environments, addressing load times, memory consumption, and offline capabilities
Collaborate deeply with Design, Engineering, and Product Leadership on both strategy and execution of foundational systems
Develop internal developer experiences and abstractions that enable product teams to build quickly without navigating complex foundational code
Prioritize technical investments based on user impact, business objectives, and engineering constraints
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
6+ years of experience as a full-time Product Manager
Experience working with core platform teams, particularly in developer experience and/or media/graphics domains
Understanding of game engine concepts, rendering systems, or animation frameworks
Experience enabling non-technical teams on technical priorities
Strong stakeholder alignment skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
Experience shipping high-quality software that drove efficiency for users and business results for your company
Demonstrated grit and persistence in solving complex technical challenges
While it's not required, it's an added plus if you also have:
Experience with graphics programming, WebGL, or browser rendering technologies
Background in building developer platforms or APIs
Experience with version control systems or supporting offline use cases
Knowledge of LLM integration with visual design tools
Experience at companies with similar technical challenges
Experience building in multi-product environments
