We are looking for a Product Manager to join our Creation Engine pillar, the foundational teams that power Figma's canvas, rendering, performance, and extensions across all products. This role sits at the intersection of cutting-edge rendering technology, creative tools, and AI innovation, building the foundation that enables millions of designers and developers to create and collaborate in ways that weren't possible before. You'll lead two critical teams, Rendering & Animation and Media & Motion, driving the graphics rendering layer and media processing capabilities that power all Figma products across web, desktop, and mobile.
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you'll do at Figma:
Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for foundational rendering, animation, and media systems that power all Figma products.
Guide the Rendering & Animation team to optimize core graphics rendering performance, WebGL/GPU capabilities, and animation frameworks
Guide the Media & Motion team in developing client-side video and image processing, export capabilities, and raster graphics systems
Shape the company strategy for motion, media, rendering, and animations at the foundational level, ensuring consistency across all products
Collaborate with product teams as a technical consultant, providing specialized rendering capabilities while maintaining architectural integrity
Drive performance optimization initiatives, measuring and improving rendering metrics across platforms to deliver magical user experiences
Translate complex rendering concepts for non-technical stakeholders and communicate the value of performance improvements across the organization
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
6+ years of experience as a full-time Product Manager
Strong technical background with understanding of graphics rendering, WebGL/WebGPU, media processing, and performance optimization
Ability to work effectively with product teams to understand their rendering needs while maintaining architectural integrity
Experience balancing immediate performance improvements with long-term architectural investments in foundational systems
Demonstrated ability bringing a product-centric and user-centric mindset to platform-driven projects
Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to navigate ambiguity while building roadmaps and aligning stakeholders
While it's not required, it's an added plus if you also have:
Background in image/video processing technologies, codecs, and optimization techniques
Experience with game engines, animation frameworks, runtimes, rendering, media, and/or graphics
Understanding of animation frameworks and motion design principles
Detail-oriented video platform experience (Instagram Reels, TikTok, etc.)
Experience leading major platform initiatives across user-facing products

Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location. The listed range is a guideline, and the range for this role may be modified. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, the pay range is localized according to employee work location by a factor of between 80% and 100% of range.
