Figma Product Managers are highly collaborative self-starters who push their teams to build amazing experiences for all our users. We have a diverse range of experiences and expertise and love learning from each other. Across all product areas, successful Figma PMs thrive on solving hard problems, considering every detail, and achieving ambitious goals. If this sounds like you, come join us!

We are looking for a Product Manager to join our Creation Engine pillar, the foundational teams that power Figma's canvas, rendering, performance, and extensions across all products. This role sits at the intersection of cutting-edge rendering technology, creative tools, and AI innovation, building the foundation that enables millions of designers and developers to create and collaborate in ways that weren't possible before. You'll lead two critical teams, Rendering & Animation and Media & Motion, driving the graphics rendering layer and media processing capabilities that power all Figma products across web, desktop, and mobile.

This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.

What you'll do at Figma:

  • Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for foundational rendering, animation, and media systems that power all Figma products.

  • Guide the Rendering & Animation team to optimize core graphics rendering performance, WebGL/GPU capabilities, and animation frameworks

  • Guide the Media & Motion team in developing client-side video and image processing, export capabilities, and raster graphics systems

  • Shape the company strategy for motion, media, rendering, and animations at the foundational level, ensuring consistency across all products

  • Collaborate with product teams as a technical consultant, providing specialized rendering capabilities while maintaining architectural integrity

  • Drive performance optimization initiatives, measuring and improving rendering metrics across platforms to deliver magical user experiences

  • Translate complex rendering concepts for non-technical stakeholders and communicate the value of performance improvements across the organization

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • 6+ years of experience as a full-time Product Manager

  • Strong technical background with understanding of graphics rendering, WebGL/WebGPU, media processing, and performance optimization

  • Ability to work effectively with product teams to understand their rendering needs while maintaining architectural integrity

  • Experience balancing immediate performance improvements with long-term architectural investments in foundational systems

  • Demonstrated ability bringing a product-centric and user-centric mindset to platform-driven projects

  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to navigate ambiguity while building roadmaps and aligning stakeholders

While it's not required, it's an added plus if you also have:

  • Background in image/video processing technologies, codecs, and optimization techniques

  • Experience with game engines, animation frameworks, runtimes, rendering, media, and/or graphics

  • Understanding of animation frameworks and motion design principles

  • Detail-oriented video platform experience (Instagram Reels, TikTok, etc.)

  • Experience leading major platform initiatives across user-facing products

At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
