About the team
You’ll be joining the Monetization and Growth team at Goodnotes, where design directly drives business outcomes. We design the moments that connect people to value across subscriptions, pricing, payments, onboarding and retention. This work has a measurable impact on the company’s success and we treat growth as a design challenge, not just a numbers game.
The team is distributed across Europe and Asia with strong hubs in Hong Kong and London. We work remotely and asynchronously. That said you’ll find closer collaboration if you’re in Asian time zones.
About the role
We’re looking for a product designer who thrives at the intersection of user experience and business growth. This is not about nudges or dark patterns. It is about making Goodnotes more valuable and accessible to more people while keeping the experience trustworthy and on brand.
You’ll own key parts of the monetization journey from onboarding through subscriptions, billing and retention. You’ll design flows that improve activation, conversion and retention. You’ll also play a key role in how we experiment, learn and scale what works. You’ll collaborate with product managers, data scientists, engineers and marketers to test bold ideas and ship improvements that move the needle.
This is the role for you, if you’re excited to work on the things listed below:
Designing clear user-centric flows that increase conversions and strengthen retention
Creating design variations for experiments and running A/B tests to validate ideas
Translating funnel insights and behavioral data into creative high-quality design solutions
Spotting UX friction and designing solutions that balance user needs with business goals
Building patterns and scalable frameworks that can be applied across multiple flows
Partnering with product, engineering, analytics and marketing to move quickly from idea to launch
Advocating for user trust through transparent and ethical design choices
The skills you will need to be successful in the above:
3+ years of product design experience ideally on consumer or growth teams
Strong visual and interaction design craft with a sharp eye for detail
Experience designing end-to-end flows and collaborating cross-functionally
Curiosity about how design influences behaviour and business metrics
Comfort with experimentation, iteration and learning from both successes and failures
Ability to frame insights and build narratives that align cross-functional teams
What else would help you, but is not required
Experience working on growth initiatives such as activation, retention or monetization
Familiarity with subscriptions, payments or onboarding flows
Hands-on use of data tools such as Amplitude or Looker
Exposure to growth marketing and lifecycle tools such as Braze, Intercom or AppsFlyer
Even if you don’t check every box, we’d still love to hear from you. If you’re eager to learn and grow, we’ll support you.
The interview process:
An introductory call with someone from our talent acquisition team. They want to hear more about your background, what you are looking for, and why you’d like to join Goodnotes
A one-hour interview, including a portfolio review, with our Head of Design
A one-hour portfolio deep-dive with designers and cross-functional partners
A 45 minute call with our Product Manager and Team Lead for Monetization
A 90-minute whiteboard session with our design team where we co-ideate and see how we can work together
What’s in it for you:
Budget for things like noise cancelling headphones, setting up your home office, personal development, professional training, and health & wellness
Sponsored visits to our Hong Kong or London office every 2 years
Company wide annual offsite
Flexible working hours and location
Medical insurance for you and your dependents
