Product Designer I - Commerce (L3)
About your Team
Teachable is looking for a creative, driven designer to shape the future of our commerce offerings. The Commerce team’s goal is to empower knowledge-based creators and their partners to increase their income by providing the financial and operational tools, services, and programs needed to start selling and scale their business. This role offers a unique opportunity to directly impact our transaction revenue through high-traffic, widely-used commerce features. You'll be joining at an exciting time as we modernize our platform and expand our payment capabilities. At Teachable, Product Designers lead design from ideation to launch—advocating for users, conducting discovery, refining designs, and iterating post-launch. You’ll collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to define and execute a strategy that balances user needs with business goals. In doing so, you’ll work remotely with Teachable’s US-based teams as well as Hotmart employees based in Belo Horizonte and São Paulo. If you have big ideas, relish the chance to challenge convention, and deeply believe in the power of creators to shape the future, we want you on our team!
In this role, you'll:
Design – Lead the evolution of our commerce experiences, including checkout flows, payment systems, and fraud prevention
Empathize – Dig deep with research to uncover what users really need and help answer, 'What should we build?'
Advocate – Speak up for the user while keeping business goals in mind. Great design happens when both thrive.
Commit – Own your work from idea to launch. Sketch, test, tweak, and bring your best ideas to life.
Optimize – Try, learn, repeat. Run experiments and A/B tests to validate hypotheses and optimize conversion.
Communicate – Keep everyone in the loop. Clear goals, good storytelling, and strong teamwork make all the difference.
Evaluate – Check what’s working (and what’s not). Smart insights help us make better, more user-friendly products.
Expand – Partner with engineering to integrate new payment methods and deepen our Stripe integration capabilities.
Collaborate – Join a culture that encourages sharing work early and often with fellow designers and cross-functional partners.
What You'll Bring:
2+ years of professional product design experience shipping a variety of projects in a team environment.
Strong visual design principles such as consistency, color, typography, and responsive layouts.
Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with engineering to ensure smooth product execution and delivery.
Comfort working with existing design systems and component libraries.
Effective storytelling and communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
A curious, hypothesis-driven approach to investigating and solving design problems.
Strong English-speaking skills
A portfolio with case studies showcasing your product design work
That spark of curiosity that drives you to create great experiences for your users
Nice to Have:
Experience working in growth stage ($10MM - $100MM ARR) companies
Experience working in pod/squad-based team structures (capabilities led by an engineering lead, product manager and design lead)
Experience with A/B testing and experiment-driven design
Experience working with fintech or ecommerce products.
Additional details
