Principal - Strategy & Operations, Technology Partnerships
An overview of this role
As a Principal - Strategy & Operations focused on Partner Integrations at GitLab, you'll be at the forefront of expanding our platform's capabilities through strategic partnerships with technology partners and third-party software providers. You will own the complete lifecycle of technology partnerships - from identifying valuable technology partnership opportunities to coordinating with internal product and engineering teams and external partners to deliver seamless experiences for our users. Your work will directly impact GitLab's ecosystem, making our platform more versatile and valuable for developers worldwide. You'll collaborate across multiple teams while serving as the primary point of contact between GitLab and our technology partners, ensuring alignment and successful delivery of integration roadmaps.
What You’ll Do
Drive the end-to-end product lifecycle for technology partnerships and integrations, from strategic planning to launch and optimization
Serve as the primary liaison between GitLab's product/engineering teams and external technology partners
Identify high-value partnership and integration opportunities through market research, customer feedback, and competitive analysis
Create and maintain technology partnership roadmaps that align with GitLab's overall product strategy
Define clear requirements, success metrics, and acceptance criteria for technology partnership projects
Collaborate with product management and engineering to ensure technical feasibility and guide implementation priorities
Work closely with technology partner product teams to ensure seamless experiences for GitLab customers
Champion technology partnerships through involvement in release planning, documentation, and go-to-market activities
What You’ll Bring
5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years focused on API integrations, platform partnerships, or developer tools
Proven track record of successfully managing technical integration projects between software products
Strong understanding of API design principles, authentication methods, and data exchange patterns
Experience with Git-based workflows, CI/CD processes, and DevOps practices
Experience with security products and understanding of security integration requirements (e.g., SAST, DAST, SCA tools, compliance frameworks)
Knowledge of AI/ML technologies and experience integrating AI-powered capabilities into developer workflows
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts between different audiences
Strong negotiation and relationship management skills for effective partner collaboration
Ability to create compelling business cases and prioritize features based on user value and strategic alignment
Experience working in cross-functional, remote, and asynchronous teams

Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.
