Principal Project Manager (Ambulatory) Location: Remote Department: Project Management Office (PMO) Travel: As needed

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of high-priority, complex technical projects for top ambulatory clients.

  • Manage internal and external project teams to ensure milestones are met and deliverables remain on track.

  • Collaborate with finance, operations, and team leads to manage project budgets, scope, and resource allocation.

  • Proactively identify risks, resolve cross-functional issues, and maintain transparency throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Conduct post-project reviews and lessons-learned sessions to support continuous improvement.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including technical teams and senior leadership.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership, ensuring alignment of project goals with organizational objectives.

  • Supervise and mentor 23 Project Managers and/or Project Coordinators, providing coaching and feedback.

  • Act as an escalation point for project challenges and provide guidance to ensure timely resolution.

  • Ensure team adherence to PMO standards, tools, and best practices.

  • Champion change management strategies to support process adoption and enhance PMO maturity.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Management, or related field; Masters degree or MBA preferred.

  • Project and/or IT certifications required (PMP, Six Sigma, CompTIA, ITIL).

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in technical project management, including enterprise and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Proven track record of managing complex IT projects on time and within budget, including onboardings, migrations, and offboardings.

  • Experience as a working manager, overseeing team performance and individual project work.

  • Strong leadership skills with ability to influence and drive results across all organizational levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resource planning in dynamic environments.

  • Skilled in building effective relationships with ambulatory clients and cross-functional partners.

  • Executive presence with strong communication skills at all organizational levels.

  • Expertise in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) and tools.

  • Proficiency in project and portfolio management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, Jira); experience with ConnectWise is a plus.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
