Policy & Compliance Operations Associate (Remote)
Overview:
The policy and compliance operations associate will efficiently monitor, enforce, and audit all license types following state-by-state guidelines. This role will be the decision-maker that will authorize a client to be listed on Weedmaps based on the review and validation of the documents provided. Managing compliance audits of operators, products, images, and metrics along with periodic audits will also be within the scope of work.
The impact you'll make:
Review license renewals and verify that they are acceptable on each state licensing website.
Stay up to date on the state laws and regulations, updating Weedmaps licensing standard operating procedures in a timely manner.
Contact the appropriate person for each listing to obtain renewed licenses in a timely manner, upload the license into Salesforce, and ensure all notes are kept up to date.
Make sound decisions on behalf of Weedmaps to either approve or reject licenses provided
Ensure all contracts are signed and stored within Salesforce by executing audits to ensure compliance.
Be the decision-maker for auditing and approving opportunities (Closed Won) that are submitted by Revenue/Sales.
Execute audits for SOX controls (O2C), as well as research non-compliant operators, products, and images (Trust & Safety) and report findings in a timely manner.
Track, report, and take appropriate action for non-compliance including notification to leadership and legal department
Ensure compliance with our policies and work with our clients and partner teams to deliver exceptional service
Decision-maker for approving opportunities (Close Won) that are submitted by sales.
Meet with Legal weekly for guidance on any potential legal issues that arise
Assist in the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on policy enforcement.
Work cross-functionally with partners from Sales, Customer Service, Support Operations, and Legal to improve the Weedmaps experience, process, and tooling.
Additional tasks and/or projects as assigned
What you've accomplished:
BA/BS Degree required or equivalent experience
5+ years customer service experience
1+ years experience writing and maintaining standard operating procedures and policies
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience using SaaS products a plus
Understanding of state by state cannabis laws and SOX compliance
Experience working with cross-functional teams
Strong planning, analytical and organizational skills
Bonus Points:
2+ years policy and compliance operations experience
Experience in Cannabis industry
Spanish bilingual written/verbal
The base pay range for this position is $70,425.00 - $101,300.00
