The Verifications and Identity Platform partnerships team sources, develops, and manages relationships with our most critical verification providers, data aggregators and direct sources. Our team focuses on enabling regulation-compliant merchant onboarding and drives the expansion of Stripe internal products that rely on verification of identity information. Verifications are at the core of Stripe’s operations. Our team executes on high-impact, cross-functional initiatives leveraging partners across new product initiatives. The impact of this work positions the platform as a cornerstone of Stripe's global expansion strategy.

What you’ll do

We are looking for a Partner Development Manager who will be responsible for executing partnerships in support of Stripe’s risk product business, engineering, and operations. You will focus on building first of kind relationships with existing and new Stripe partners, optimizing existing partnerships for growth, and driving recommendations to support product differentiation to Stripe. As part of these efforts, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including Product, Engineering, Legal, Procurement, Finance, Risk, and others. You will also lead relationship management and partner closely with external partners’ executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage industry knowledge to craft thoughtful partnership and product strategies, and execute deals and initiatives that support Stripe’s strategy

  • Gather inputs from and coordinate with internal cross-functional stakeholders (including risk, compliance, product, engineering, security) to drive creation and execution of partner (and related product) strategy

  • Identify and effectively analyze new partnership opportunities for Stripe, ultimately making recommendations to relevant decision makers and cross-functional stakeholders

  • Use strategic and product creativity to collaborate with Stripe leaders to drive innovation

  • Identify partner stakeholders to educate them about Stripe’s value proposition and build alignment between Stripe and our partner’s executive teams

  • Exhibit an operationally focused mindset, with an ability to lead cross-functional teams through complex relationship management activities by setting a clear vision, and running coordinated processes

Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, corporate development or related field

  • Experience negotiating commercial deals with partners, including scaling such deals across multiple partners

  • Exceptionally strong communication skills, in both verbal and written form, and ability to influence stakeholders across a wide variety of functions, including at executive levels

  • Technical acumen, especially an ability to understand product strategy and use this understanding to define requirements for scaling products through partnerships

  • Experience developing partnership strategies and identifying, sourcing, and analyzing new partnership opportunities

  • Strong agency, can handle ambiguity in a fast-moving organization, and thrives on a high level of autonomy and responsibility.

Preferred qualifications

  •  5+ years of experience related to KYC/KYB providers, verification aggregators, fraud platforms or other high-growth technology companies on platform or product partnership efforts
