Mobile Engineer - Mobile Infrastructure - Connectivity
We are forming a new squad within Core Infra to own Spotify’s client connectivity layer, as Connectivity transitions from CLiP to Core Infra.
We are looking for a Mobile Engineer to join this newly formed squad, a team at the heart of Spotify's Core Infrastructure studio. You will help build and evolve the foundational SDK that powers networking for all Spotify applications across mobile platforms.
By contributing to our entire traffic stack, from client to the backend, you will enable hundreds of engineering teams to build features that are reliable, performant, and efficient for millions of listeners worldwide. This is a critical, high-impact role that will shape the end-to-end connectivity experience for Spotify users. What You'll Do
Build and evolve the client connectivity layer that powers Spotify apps, enabling reliable, efficient, and observable networking across platforms (Android, iOS, C++, ) and integrating end-to-end with Spotify’s backend infrastructure.
Design, implement, and maintain Connectivity SDK modules
Collaborate on decoupling and modularization: establish interfaces, ownership boundaries, testing strategies, and build/CI hygiene.
Support the creation of metrics and telemetry to enable end-to-end debugging.
Collaborate with PM/EM and partner teams to define roadmaps and delivery.
Participate in design reviews, RFCs, incident reviews, and on-call rotations appropriate to client infra.
Share knowledge with peers and grow your expertise in mobile infrastructure
Who You Are
You are a software engineer with hands-on experience in mobile development (Android and/or iOS), with an interest in expanding into client-core/C++.
You have experience building and shipping production-grade mobile apps, SDK, or mobile infrastructure components.
You have strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
You have a good understanding of software architecture and design principles.
You are an inclusive colleague who thrives in a collaborative environment.
You can pick up new skills and technologies quickly to unblock yourself and maximize your impact.
(nice-to-have): You have experience with modular codebases and code isolation strategies.
(nice-to-have): You are familiar with networking fundamentals and building resilient client-to-backend systems.
(nice-to-have): You have prior experience with Esperanto.
Where You'll Be
This role will ideally be located in the UK, Sweden, or potentially one of our other EMEA locations *excluding France for now due to on-call restrictions.
We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
