Manager, Software Engineering - UI Platform & Design Systems
The UI Platform & Design Systems team’s mission is to make Figma beautiful, accessible, and reliable by crafting high quality UI systems and patterns for Figma's engineering and design teams. This team supports the work of designers and engineers across all of Figma’s product suite. We tackle the biggest opportunities across creating product UI - owning Figma’s world class design system and other work to upleveling design craft, tooling and workflow improvements, and setting coding practices across teams.
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you'll do at Figma:
Manage and support a team of experienced engineers to drive best in class user interfaces across Figma’s product suite
Partner with design and engineering leadership to set strategy, priorities, and mission for teams and projects
Roll up your sleeves as needed to get involved in the technical details of creating our frontend codebase
Work closely with design to build craft and delight in a high impact way across all of Figma, and collaborate with cross functional leaders across Figma to adopt these best practices
Build and support a culture of doing great work together for our engineering team by investing in team culture, mentorship, and meaningful work

We’d love to hear from you if you have:
3+ years of engineering management experience and leading a high output engineering team
8+ years of frontend engineering experience
Demonstrated leadership skills in building a high-performing and highly engaged engineering team; including a proven track record of motivating, mentoring, and guiding senior engineers
Prior experience driving frontend platform work that enables other teams
A deep passion for design craft and usability
Proven success in building, scaling, and shipping high-quality work
While it’s not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
Familiarity with building accessible applications and creating highly interactive web experiences
Experience with tools and frameworks for building Web applications like Webpack, CSS tools like Tailwind
An understanding of best practices for testing and observability

If based in Figma’s San Francisco or New York hub offices, this role has the annual base salary range stated below.
Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location. The listed range is a guideline, and the range for this role may be modified. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, the pay range is localized according to employee work location by a factor of between 80% and 100% of range.
