Manager, Software Engineering - Community
The Community team under Growth is on a mission to both fuel Figma’s top-of-funnel growth and deliver a product experience that inspires and delights Figma’s global community of creators. The Community product enables millions of designers and makers to connect, publish, and monetize their work — building a vibrant ecosystem that fosters creativity and collaboration. At the same time, Community serves as a critical resource hub, where 20% of WAU discover templates, AI resources, and new product experiences like Sites, making it a key driver of adoption and engagement. In this role, you will shape both the product and platform roadmap, ensuring Community continues to thrive as both a beloved destination for creators and a growth engine for Figma.
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you’ll do at Figma:
Lead, grow and support a diverse team of full stack engineers responsible for Community and Resource hub
Partner with product and engineering leadership to set strategy, priorities, and mission for teams
Provide hands-on technical leadership to your teams and others that collaborate with your teams to ensure a cohesive product experience and the right technical abstractions
Work closely with Product, Research, Design, Data and other engineering teams to define and build best-in-class product experiences and growth strategies
Establish trust within and across teams by creating accountability and a positive work environment in partnership with other leaders in the organization
Grow your career in an engaged and creative engineering community
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
3+ years of experience managing and leading high output engineering teams
Hands-on technical experience: you have built complex products and systems as an individual contributor, and can represent the technical details of work shipped by the team you’ve managed
Demonstrated leadership skills in building a high-performing and highly engaged engineering team. Proven track record of motivating, mentoring, and guiding senior engineers
Prior experience in building and growing product businesses
While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
Exposure to driving platform level strategy and new product incubation
Experience working in growth teams with hypothesis and experiment driven product development
Product Analytic Expertise, facilitating user research and data to help create new opportunities or investment areas for your team
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
