Manager - FP&A and Finance Operations

Overview MDC Associates ('MDC') is a full-service CRO dedicated to supporting innovators and entrepreneurs bringing In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) and Medical Devices to market that impact the lives of millions of patients around the world. Initially founded to provide Regulatory and Quality guidance, we identified a need for highly skilled Clinical Affairs, Clinical Operations, and Data Management services and built our CRO to best ensure our client's success. We're proud of our 35+ year track record providing guidance and resources that have helped to deliver next-generation advances in microbiology, clinical chemistry, infectious disease and companion diagnostics (CDx) that contribute to a healthier world. We are seeking an experienced and analytical finance professional to join our team asManager, FP&A and Finance Operations. This individual will be responsible for driving budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and business performance analysis, while also overseeing key aspects of financial operations. The ideal candidate brings strong ERP and Power BI expertise to deliver accurate, data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. Primary Responsibilities Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead annual budgeting, quarterly reforecasting, and long-range planning processes.

  • Build and maintain detailed financial models to support scenario planning, profitability analysis, and capital allocation.

  • Partner with business leaders to provide actionable insights that improve performance and support growth initiatives.

  • Deliver monthly reporting packages and variance analysis with clear, executive-ready commentary.

Data, Reporting & Systems

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and self-service reporting in Power BI, integrating financial and operational data.

  • Serve as ERP lead within finance, driving automation, reporting efficiency, and system enhancements.

  • Ensure consistent and accurate financial data across ERP, BI tools, and reporting systems.

Controllership Oversight

  • Oversee core accounting processes (GL, AP/AR, close cycles) to ensure timeliness and accuracy.

  • Support audit and compliance requirements, coordinating with external partners as needed.

  • Strengthen internal controls and improve process efficiency without sacrificing agility.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Act as a strategic finance partner to the CFO/CEO/CCO and executive team, providing insights that drive business growth and operational excellence.

  • Thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments with a high standard of performance, balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution.

  • Foster collaborative, high-performing teams through mentorship, coaching, and clear communication, holding self and others accountable to excellence.

  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels to align financial plans with organizational goals.

  • Cultivate positive team culture, trust, and accountability, even under tight deadlines or complex, high-stakes projects.

  • Committed to continuous personal and professional growth, seeking opportunities to take on new challenges and propel both team and organizational success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA a plus).

  • 4+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or corporate finance roles; exposure to controllership/accounting preferred.

  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills.

  • Hands-on expertise with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).

  • Proficiency with Power BI for building dashboards, data visualization, and analytics.

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex financial information clearly.

  • Experience in professional services and/or clinical research preferred.

  • Demonstrated success in driving financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis to support organizational growth.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex financial information to executive leadership and stakeholders.

  • Strong track record of enabling business decisions through actionable insights and data-drive recommendations.

  • Deep understanding of financial operations, ERP systems, and reporting tools.

  • Up to 10% travel.

Pay

  • Base Salary:$125,000-135,000

  • Performance Bonus:$10,000-15,000
