Manager, Data Science - Core Data
The Core Data Science team is at the center of data within Figma. With a charge to uplevel Figma’s use of data, the team works alongside other Data Scientists and Engineering to identify ways to implement and democratize new statistical methods, build data frameworks, and incorporate data within Figma’s product. In addition to enabling data practitioners, the team also supports the Infrastructure organization. The team contributes to the org’s goals by collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and our finance team to uncover inefficiencies in system and resource utilization; recommending architectural improvements through data-driven insights; and tying infrastructure investments directly to product performance and customer impact
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you’ll do at Figma:
Lead, support, and grow a team of data scientists with varied strengths and expertise focused on internal tooling, machine learning enablement, and support our Infrastructure organization
Guide development of new and sophisticated applications of data
Champion data quality, accessibility, and the democratization of data across the company
Establish trust within and across teams by creating accountability and a positive work environment in partnership with other leaders in the organization
Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, Research, Sales, Marketing, or Finance to drive impact
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
3+ years of experience managing and leading high output data science teams
5+ years of experience working in of experience in Analytics, Data Science, or a related field
Strong foundation in statistical methods, experimentation, and/or forecasting
Technical curiosity - you should be ready to learn and grow alongside your team
A desire to build an inclusive and diverse culture
Experience scaling teams in high-growth environments
While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
Experience with ML or Security Data Science

Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location. The listed range is a guideline, and the range for this role may be modified. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, the pay range is localized according to employee work location by a factor of between 80% and 100% of range.
