About You

Nutrafol is seeking an experienced Manager, Audit & Operational Expenditures Accounting that will be responsible for overseeing the internal and external audit process, as well as overseeing Opex Accounting. You must be a highly driven, high-energy, focused individual that can work well with internal and external partners at all levels. You will be expected to problem solve, drive process improvements and exercise good business judgment. You will be working closely with the Accounting team and maintain cross-functional relationships. Responsibilities

Audit 

  • Supervise and oversee internal audit activities to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.

  • Partner with external audit firms, coordinating the annual audit process, and ensuring timely completion of the audit.

  • Stay current with changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.

  • Identify key business risks and the adequacy of processes and controls to address  those risks.

  • Makes recommendations for improvement and drives changes to both controls and processes. 

  • Ensure SOX compliance throughout the organization.

Opex

  • Lead and manage the month-end close process for operating expenses, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

  • Oversee the reconciliation of accrual and  prepaid expense accounts, ensuring accurate recording and amortization of prepaid items.

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.

  • Collaborate with various teams to review and maintain comprehensive cost trackers.

  • Manage schedules related to accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other pertinent financial components and ensure these schedules are up-to-date and reconciled regularly.

  • Offer detailed insights into significant month-over-month cost variations.

  • Manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable process, including invoice verification, approval workflows, and payment processing.

Requirements

  • Experience with Quickbooks & Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred 

  • 6+ years of accounting experience preferably with Consumer Products Experience

  • CPA or working toward CPA designation preferred. 

  • Experience in start-up/high-growth eCommerce or CPG business. 

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adhere to tight deadlines, and be unafraid to ask questions. 

  • Advanced skills in Excel, with the ability to manipulate, digest, and summarize large amounts of data. 

  • Proven ability to identify and drive process and system improvements. 

  • Passionate about accounting operations and willing to roll up your sleeves. 

  • Experience gathering, evaluating, presenting, and reporting financial information to various audiences.
