Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

The Content Enterprise DSE team is a horizontal team providing foundational analytics, data science, and machine learning to power the vast range of business verticals supporting Content production. We work across the full lifecycle of data projects, spanning foundational data quality improvements, exploratory data analysis, predictive models, and AI-powered solutions to boost enterprise productivity. Our work can equally look like going deep into a specific business area to prototype a predictive model; partnering with Engineering teams to bring more scientific rigor to LLM evaluations; or thinking broadly about data’s role in supporting long-term evergreen enterprise goals like content risk reduction or data taxonomy management.

We’re looking for a Manager to lead this team, driving impactful solutions through strategic leadership, strong partnerships, and technical expertise.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and mentor a team in building and optimizing analytical insights, scalable ML pipelines, and LLM-powered solutions for cross-functional business teams

  • Drive automation, standardization, and best practices in LLM workflows, including fine-tuning, evaluation, benchmarking, and deployment

  • Oversee the evaluation, selection, and integration of third-party tools and foundational models when appropriate, partnering closely with Engineering and Platform teams on build-vs-buy decisions

  • Guide the team to deliver impactful metrics, dashboards, and analytical insights on cross-cutting business foundations like core dataset management, content security & risk mitigation, and media orchestration platforms

  • Coordinate across Product, Engineering, and Platform teams to define strategy, set roadmaps, and deliver data solutions across the organization, striking a balance between short-term prototypes and long-term architecture

  • Communicate technical concepts and project impact to a diverse set of technical and non-technical stakeholders

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Multiple years of experience building and managing high-performing teams, demonstrating the ability to hire well, inspire well, adapt to business changes, and handle challenging people issues with grace

  • Passion and appreciation for leading multi-disciplinary teams; you value big leaps in ML model accuracy as much as an impeccably-designed dashboard

  • Demonstrated history bringing together multiple disparate stakeholder perspectives to create clarity, evaluate trade-offs, and establish a path forward in ambiguous and complex technical environments

  • Direct experience working on or managing AI/LLM-powered solutions in an internal enterprise and/or consumer-facing setting

  • Strong interest in staying up to date on industry trends and advancements, with good judgment on when to engage the team in exploring new ideas and approaches

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to act as the bridge between technical and non-technical audiences

  • A PhD or Master's degree in a relevant technical field; hands-on experience in language model embeddings, fine-tuning pipelines, and/or frameworks around language models is a plus

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $360,000 - $920,000.

Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.

We are an equal-opportunity employer and celebrate diversity, recognizing that diversitybuilds stronger teams. We approach diversity and inclusion seriously and thoughtfully. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service.

Job is open for no less than 7 days and will be removed when the position is filled.
