The Role
As a Localization Specialist at Bitly you will be working closely with content, creative, marketing, product, and engineering teams to translate, adapt, optimize, and create a variety of content and copy types across various channels to help promote the Bitly brands and make our products more accessible to audiences all over the world. The combination of English/Italian is offered as a part-time position.
What You’ll Do
Translate and localize website content, product copy, landing pages, help center articles, ad campaigns and other digital assets from English into Italian (and preferably also into Spanish and/or Portuguese).
Ensure translations are culturally relevant, linguistically accurate, and adhere to local SEO best practices.
Proofread and edit localized content to ensure grammatical correctness, stylistic consistency, and adherence to language-specific conventions.
Post-edit machine translated content and leverage AI translation features.
Collaborate with content, creative, marketing, product, and engineering teams to gather information for localization or content creation.
Work with content and translation management systems for publishing and organizing localized content.
Who You Are
5+ years of experience as a freelance or in-house translator.
Proficiency in CAT tools like Phrase, SDL Trados Studio, or Crowdin.
Understanding of localization principles and strategies.
Familiarity with basic SEO principles to optimize content for search engines.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams .
Very good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deliverables.
Ideally experience with SEO tools like SEMrush, Google Search Console or Google Analytics.
Basic knowledge of content management systems (CMS).
