The Role

As Counsel (U.S.) at Telnyx, you will collaborate with the legal team and management to support our global operations and help drive efficiency across diverse squads - growth, vendor relations, recruiting, regulatory, and more. With operations in the United States, Europe, and Asia, this role has a strong international dimension.

At Telnyx, we’re scaling a next-generation communications platform, and we’re looking for a legal mind who is not only strong in fundamental legal skills but also eager to embrace technology. Comfort with AI-enabled tools, automation platforms, and evolving regulatory frameworks will be just as important as traditional legal training. This is an opportunity to shape the future of legal at a fast-paced, high-growth company.

Responsibilities

Legal Operations & Processes

  • Support a wide range of contract, compliance, and operational needs across the business.

  • Develop, refine, and document legal processes, including subpoena responses, compliance protocols, and knowledge management.

  • Evaluate and implement legal technology platforms - including AI-driven solutions—for contract review, workflow automation, and compliance monitoring.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Work directly with teams across the company to remove legal blockers and keep projects moving forward.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to management and internal stakeholders, translating legal concepts into practical guidance.

  • Support global initiatives with sensitivity to jurisdictional differences, often in partnership with outside counsel.

Third-Party Relations

  • Participate in investor, lender, customer, and vendor interactions, serving as a professional representative of Telnyx while protecting company interests.

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Collaborate with the General Counsel to craft compliance strategies that keep Telnyx both nimble and aligned with global requirements.

  • Monitor evolving regulatory frameworks, with a focus on using AI and technology to stay ahead of changes.

  • Develop internal policies (e.g., retention, security, privacy) that reflect both legal obligations and business priorities.

What we are looking for

  • 0–3 years of experience as an attorney (transactional or generalist backgrounds welcome).

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.

  • Active state bar license in the United States.

  • Located in the continental U.S. (Pacific, Mountain, Central, or Eastern time zones) to align with team operations.

  • Demonstrated interest or experience in technology, AI-driven legal tools, and workflow automation.

  • Excited to leverage technology to make legal operations more efficient.

  • Comfortable learning and applying new tools, particularly AI-enabled platforms.

  • Pragmatic problem-solver with strong communication skills.

  • Curious, adaptable, and eager to work in a fast-paced, international environment.

  • Broad legal foundation with the flexibility to take on new subject matter quickly.
