Mercy For Animals aims to end industrial animal agriculture by constructing a just and sustainable food system. We envision a world where animals are respected, protected, and free.

As a leading farmed animal advocacy organization, we know that achieving this goal requires a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work environment—one that welcomes and sparks new perspectives and innovative ideas. If you are passionate about our mission, driven to make a big impact for animals, and eager to be part of a dedicated team, join us!

We currently seek a Global Campaigns Specialist to join our Corporate Engagement team. In this role, you will plan and execute sustained-pressure campaigns to motivate major corporations to adopt and implement animal welfare policies that eliminate the cruelest practices in their global food supply chains. You will also assist with mobilizing a growing global network of supporters to amplify campaigns.

You will do invaluable work:

  • Work with the global corporate engagement team to optimize campaign strategies to secure and ensure the implementation of corporate farmed animal welfare policies at the global level

  • Conduct in-depth research on major global corporations to support campaign strategy and tactics, including their corporate structure, history, animal welfare standards, leadership, social media presence, and affiliates, to identify key opportunities for engagement and advocacy

  • Collaborate with the Projects Manager to occasionally gather, organize, or synthesize company-related or other relevant information to support internal planning, prioritization, and strategic alignment

  • Brainstorm and execute creative campaign tactics to prompt food companies to take action for animals

  • Work closely with regional campaigners to coordinate support for global projects, such as organizing and executing demonstrations and creating campaign resources—including videos, websites, advertisements, and public relations materials

  • Strengthen relationships with partner organizations worldwide to maximize the impact of global corporate campaigns

  • Assist the Global Corporate Engagement department with activities, such as identifying and researching prospective corporate outreach targets, joining corporate engagement calls, and conducting follow-up research

  • Develop and maintain accurate, compelling, and consistent corporate campaign materials that comply with internal legal, editorial, and messaging standards

  • Represent Mercy For Animals during on-the-ground actions, such as demonstrations and other events

  • Coordinate the writing and publication of petitions and their updates;

  • Facilitate the development of campaign videos, including drafting scripts, creating video concepts in collaboration with videographers, working with voice actors, and supporting publication via YouTube with titles and descriptions;

  • Manage logistics for media ad placement, create mobile billboards, coordinate protest tours, and implement other creative tactics;

  • Coordinate with the Communications department to contact celebrities, write letters, and develop overall campaign promotion;

  • Coordinate the drafting and publication of content related to campaigns and the achievements of the Corporate Engagement team;

  • Develop and update campaign-related websites in line with corporate achievements;

  • Coordinate the production of traditional and digital advertising for campaigns;

  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor

Your qualifications will take our Corporate Engagement team to the next level:

  • Minimum of one year's professional experience in campaigning, issue advocacy, project management, or a related area, preferably multinational or global

  • Strong organizational, time-management, and project-management skills

  • Resourcefulness and creative problem-solving skills

  • High level of creativity

  • Fluency in Spanish and English (required)

  • Self-motivation, perseverance, and goal-orientation

  • Collaborative spirit, cultural sensitivity, and global mindedness

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and spoken communication skills

  • Comfort with confrontation and public advocacy

  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally, domestically and internationally, for conferences, and demonstrations

  • Basic or advanced knowledge of the food industry and the issues surrounding animal welfare deficiencies, or willingness to learn about them

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Commitment to the mission and values of the organization

  • Commitment and openness to continued personal and organizational growth in diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice principles

To ensure fairness in the hiring process, we request that all applicants refrain from submitting materials that are generated entirely by artificial intelligence tools. We recognize that such tools can be useful in refining tone, grammar, and clarity, but please ensure that your materials reflect your personal experience, qualifications, and authentic voice.
