Game Production Operations Manager - Data Solutions

The Game Production Operations Manager, Data Solutions will play a pivotal role in managing and maintaining the data architecture of Portfolio Game Production teams. They will streamline workflows, verify data integrity, and enhance data trust across the organization. This role will be key in supporting our fast-paced business growth by supporting cross-functional teams to ensure that they have the information they need, helping to maintain the source of truth and providing teams the data to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities:

Manage and optimize Portfolio Game Production owned tools. 

  • Oversee the architecture and management of Airtable systems as a critical tool for games data communication.

  • Ensure that users can easily navigate data systems to perform their work functions. 

  • Identify and implement strategies to optimize database performance, scalability, and security.

  • Conduct regular audits to clean up and consolidate fields, views, tables, and other redundant or obsolete data structures within Airtable systems. 

Data Management & Governance:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams managing tools utilizing games data such as Jira, Tableau, and internally-built systems (Game Slate Manager). 

  • Document and maintain data workflows to identify data origins and destinations, clarify automation processes, and understand the interaction of data points with other tools.

  • Ensure data automation processes are consistent and effective, allowing data updates to permeate across all instances.

  • Proactively optimize or create new data workflows, working closely with relevant cross-functional teams. 

  • Work with product teams to prioritize proprietary tooling roadmaps.

  • Support data governance through and steer the future of data systems that impact game production.

  • Define the production operations data architecture and make sure the Netflix tooling supports this. 

Communication & Reporting:

  • Ensure effective communication of data updates and changes across teams.

  • Create and manage automated alerts and reminders to communicate missing or outdated data to relevant teams and to notify teams of critical updates. 

  • Develop automated reporting systems to provide regular insights and updates to teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data management, information architecture, and tool optimization.

  • Knowledge of data governance principles, data quality standards, and metadata management.

  • Possess a foundational knowledge of data systems and technical skills, including familiarity with both relational and non-relational databases, data warehousing platforms, and cloud computing technologies.

  • Experience building and implementing advanced solutions in Airtable, including interfaces and automations.

  • Familiarity with Jira and Tableau.

  • Ability to comprehend the general scope and implications of requests involving custom paved path tooling, without needing in-depth coding skills or detailed software expertise.

  • Experience in project management.

  • Experience implementing automated reporting systems.

  • Strong documentation and change management skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Nice to Haves

  • Coding skills are preferred.

  • Familiarity with JAVA, GraphQL, PostgresDB, React 18, Apollo GraphQL, TypeScript, CSS Modules, and/or Vite

  • Experience in the games industry is strongly preferred.

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $180,000 - $250,000.

Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs.  Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
