The aim of our graduate programme is to equip you with skills and experiences deemed necessary to set you up for becoming a skilled Risk Practitioner within XAPO, with guidance and support from the team who run Risk Management.
Our Graduate Programme runs for a period of 12 months giving successful graduates the opportunity to become a full time Xapien once the programme has concluded. This role would therefore be a 12 month contract.
Position overview
Seeking a motivated, analytical Finance Graduate with an interest in digital assets and crypto banking. This is a chance to launch your career at a leading financial institution exploring blockchain and cryptocurrency. You'll gain hands-on experience in critical finance functions, contributing to the bank's financial health, accounting and reporting in the digital asset space, working with experienced professionals in a supportive environment with a structured development path.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a passion for process improvement, cryptocurrency, and a desire to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including daily, weekly, and monthly management information, , with a growing focus on the financial implications of our digital asset initiatives.
Reconciliation & Control: Perform reconciliations of financial data and accounts, ensuring data integrity and adherence to internal controls and policies. This will include learning to manage and reconcile transactions related to both traditional and emerging digital asset products.
Regulatory Compliance & Digital Assets: Assist in preparing financial data and reports required for regulatory submissions, ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards (e.g., IFRS, local banking regulations), particularly as they apply to crypto-related activities and new digital asset frameworks.
Data Management & Blockchain Analytics: Support the collection, processing, and analysis of large datasets using various financial systems and tools. You'll also gain exposure to tools and techniques for analyzing blockchain data to extract meaningful financial insights.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process efficiencies and improvements within the finance function and contribute to their implementation, especially in streamlining financial operations related to new digital banking products
Ad-hoc Projects: Participate in various ad-hoc finance projects and initiatives, gaining exposure to different aspects of financial management within the bank, including those directly related to our crypto banking strategy and product development.
Collaboration: Work closely with other finance sub-teams and departments across the bank, including our innovation and digital asset teams, to support cross-functional objectives.
Skills needed
Recent graduate or final-year student in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Genuine interest in financial services, fintech, and/or cryptocurrency.
Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Basic understanding of financial and accounting principles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets is essential.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented, with a strong sense of accuracy and responsibility.
Comfortable working independently and collaborating with a team.
Enthusiastic about developing skills in financial reporting, regulatory processes, and fintech tools.
Exposure to ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite) is a plus, but not required.
