Expert Sourcing Business Partner – Global Strategic Sourcing

The Expert Sourcing Business Partner within Global Strategic Sourcing serves as a strategic advisor and procurement liaison between business units and the sourcing function for Vonage’s Business Units (BUs) and Corporate Domains. This role works closely with Technology, Product, Security, and Finance leaders to identify needs, develop sourcing strategies, manage vendor relationships, and ensure commercial value, compliance, and business alignment. The ideal candidate understands both the technical and commercial aspects of enterprise technology sourcing, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can translate business requirements into competitive sourcing outcomes.
Your key responsibilities:
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the primary sourcing point of contact for assigned business units (e.g., IT, Product, Engineering, Security, Compliance, Legal).
Understand technology roadmaps, project pipelines, and budget priorities to anticipate sourcing needs.
Advise stakeholders on supplier selection, sourcing strategy, pricing models, and contract best practices.
Category Expertise & Strategy Execution
Support sourcing initiatives for cloud services (IaaS/PaaS), SaaS applications, telecom, API platforms, and enterprise software.
Conduct market research and supplier benchmarking to inform competitive sourcing decisions.
Manage supplier evaluations, RFPs, and negotiations for both new engagements and renewals.
Contract & Risk Management
Partner with Legal, InfoSec, and Compliance to review and negotiate key terms (SLAs, data privacy, IP ownership, indemnities, exit clauses).
Ensure vendor agreements meet internal governance standards and align with regulatory/compliance requirements (GDPR, SOC 2, HIPAA, etc.).
Maintain a pipeline of contract expirations to proactively manage renewals and avoid service disruptions.
Cost Optimization & Value Delivery
Analyze spend patterns, consumption data, and licensing models to identify savings opportunities.
Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis and ROI assessments for technology investments.
Monitor vendor performance, ensuring SLAs, KPIs, and deliverables are met.
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or related field.
5–8 years of procurement or sourcing experience, with at least 3 years focused on IT / Cloud / SaaS / Telecom / API categories.
Strong negotiation skills and experience with enterprise technology vendors (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Salesforce, Oracle, Twilio, Cisco, Zoom).
Knowledge of subscription-based, usage-based, and enterprise licensing models.
Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
Experience with procurement tools (Coupa, SAP Ariba, Oracle, etc.) and proficiency in Excel or other analytics tools.
Preferred Certifications
CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or similar
AWS Cloud Practitioner or FinOps Certified Practitioner (plus)
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (plus)
