About Sydnexis: Sydnexis Inc. is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company united by a single purpose: helping children see clearly. We are developing a proprietary, stable, topical eye drop designed to slow the progression of myopia, a disease that affects more children today than ever before. Our team has filed a New Drug Application (NDA) with the FDA for our patented formulation, marking an important milestone in redefining the standard of care in pediatric eye health. At our core, we believe every child deserves the chance to see their world, and their future, with clarity. This belief drives us every day. When you join Sydnexis, you become part of a mission bigger than any one of us: to challenge outdated standards, disrupt the status quo, and deliver innovations that truly matter. Here, you’ll find a tight-knit, purpose-driven team building something extraordinary together, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on children’s lives. Position: The Executive Director of Medical Affairs will oversee the planning and execution of all medical strategies to align with business goals and market needs. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and medical leadership to define a clear vision and strategy for priority assets within the therapy area. The Director will ensure that tactical plans support strategic objectives, providing compliant assistance for both clinical development and commercial efforts. Additionally, this position will advance key Medical Affairs and scientific research initiatives by building relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), addressing educational gaps both internally and externally, and leveraging market insights to refine strategies in accordance with compliance and regulatory best practices. Role and Responsibilities:

  • Collect and synthesize insights from external stakeholders to understand the education and data needs of providers, payers, patients, and caregivers, informing the strategic planning of Medical Affairs.

  • Drive cross-functional alignment on the Medical Affairs strategy, brand planning, clinical development, and data generation programs.

  • Develop and execute medical strategies that align with business goals and market needs, including oversight of tactical planning for field medical teams.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate real-world evidence, clinical data, and health economic research for products.

  • Advance the scientific understanding of company products and clinical development programs by building relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and partnering with research organizations.

  • Develop comprehensive training initiatives to ensure all Medical Affairs team members possess a high level of scientific and technical expertise.

  • Lead Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) strategy to create and execute research initiatives.

  • Evaluate protocol grant submissions to the Investigator Initiated Trial (IIT) program.

  • Create and implement medical communications publications and data dissemination plans, including strategies for medical congresses.

  • Oversee the development and delivery of tailored medical programs and activities (e.g., presentations, publications, Advisory Boards) to support evidence-based decision-making among customers.

  • Provide monthly status updates to the executive team.

  • Ensure that all Medical Affairs strategies, tactics, and initiatives comply with regulations, guidelines, and ethical standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of Medical Affairs initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • A PharmD or PhD degree is required, along with 8+ years of relevant experience.

  • Must be a highly effective communicator and collaborator, both internally and externally.

  • Demonstrates a passion for education and a commitment to addressing unmet medical needs.

  • Recognized as a subject matter expert and thought leader in ophthalmology, with extensive medical and business experience within a strategic organization.

  • Utilizes creativity and ingenuity to analyze and resolve complex or novel problems.
