Company Description

Assent is the leading solution for supply chain sustainability tailored for the world’s top-tier, sustainability-driven manufacturers. Hidden risks riddle supply chains, many of which weren't built with sustainability in mind. That's where we step in. With insights from experts, Assent is the tool manufacturers trust for comprehensive sustainability.

We are proud to announce that Assent has crossed the US$100M ARR milestone, granting us Centaur Status. This accomplishment, reached just 8 years following our Series A, makes us the first and only Certified B Corporation in North America's SaaS sustainability industry to celebrate this milestone.

Our journey from $5 million to US$100M ARR in just eight years has been marked by significant growth and achievements. With our $350 million US funding led by Vista Equity Partners, we're poised for even greater expansion and are on the lookout for outstanding team members to join our mission.

Hybrid Work Model

At Assent, we proudly embrace a remote-first work model, valuing the flexibility and autonomy it provides our team. We also acknowledge the intangible benefits of occasional in-person workdays. For team members situated within 50 kms/31 miles of our five global offices in Ottawa, Eldoret, Penang, Columbus, and Amsterdam, you can expect to come into the office at least one day a week. Similarly, those near our co-working spaces in Nairobi and Toronto are encouraged to work onsite once a month.

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a pragmatic solution leader to join us as an Enterprise Solution Architect. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Technology & Data Solutions, you will play a critical role in shaping Assent’s enterprise technology landscape. As the lead designer on high-impact strategic initiatives, you’ll ensure new platforms and major enhancements are successfully integrated into our ecosystem, making the right tradeoffs between standard and custom solutions. You’ll influence how Assent evaluates, designs, and delivers enterprise technology, directly impacting scalability, innovation, and business success.

  • Act as lead solution designer on strategic initiatives (e.g., new enterprise applications, critical enhancements).

  • Write and maintain high-level solution design documents that capture business requirements, technical approach, and system interactions.

  • Break down deliverables in collaboration with the PMO, ensuring scope, timelines, and dependencies are clearly defined.

  • Create and communicate architecture diagrams that illustrate integrations, data flows, and system dependencies in a way stakeholders can understand.

  • Coordinate closely with development and delivery teams to ensure solutions are implemented as designed.

  • Define system integration approaches, data flows, and dependencies across the technology stack.

  • Evaluate tradeoffs between standard functionality vs. customization; provide clear, pragmatic recommendations.

  • Partner with delivery teams (Enterprise Systems and Enterprise Integration) to ensure successful implementations, including requirements, data readiness, change management, and ownership.

  • Assess opportunities to leverage AI and automation capabilities in new system designs.

  • Partner with the AI Solution Architect to ensure enterprise applications and integrations can support emerging AI-driven use cases.

  • Chair the Enterprise Architecture Review Board (EARB), applying a practical lens to technology decisions and guiding its evolution as governance matures.

  • Contribute to annual application rationalization and fiscal technology planning, ensuring decisions are informed by system design and enterprise impact.

  • Provide architectural recommendations and executive-level presentations on project impacts, tradeoffs, and system strategy.

  • Ensure implementations are secure, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards without introducing unnecessary complexity.

  • Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders, vendors, and delivery teams to drive alignment and successful outcomes.

  • Be familiar with corporate security policies and follow the guidance set out by processes and procedures of Assent.

Qualifications

We strongly value your talent, energy and passion.  It will also be valuable to Assent if you have the following qualifications:

  • Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree an asset.

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise systems solution design, with exposure to SaaS applications.

  • Salesforce expertise is a must-have: proven hands-on knowledge of Salesforce capabilities, configuration, and integration patterns.

  • Strong understanding of system integrations, data flows, and SaaS ecosystems.

  • Proven ability to design and lead implementations of enterprise applications or large enhancements.

  • Experience writing solution design documents, architecture diagrams, and working with PMO/project managers to scope and deliver projects.

  • Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns (APIs, iPaaS such as Workato, ETL pipelines).

  • Familiarity with data platforms (Snowflake, DBT, Tableau, or similar) and how they connect to enterprise applications.

  • Awareness of AI and automation trends in enterprise SaaS (e.g., Salesforce Einstein, Agentforce, Workato Copilot, contract intelligence tools).

  • Ability to identify where AI can enhance workflows, integrations, and decision-making, even if not responsible for AI model development.

  • Experience with other enterprise platforms considered an asset (ERPs, HRIS, etc.)

  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with ability to present tradeoffs and guide executive decisions.

  • Comfortable leading governance forums (architecture or procurement review boards).

  • Coachable, pragmatic, and focused on enabling outcomes while maintaining enterprise scalability.
