The Core Sync team is responsible for one of the most critical components of Dropbox: our Sync Engine. This technology is at the heart of what makes Dropbox beloved by millions — enabling seamless, reliable file syncing across devices. You will set direction for the team, anticipate strategic and scaling-related challenges via thoughtful long-term planning, and help craft technical and product strategy
Many teams at Dropbox run Services with on-call rotations, which entails being available for calls during both core and non-core business hours. If a team has an on-call rotation, all engineers on the team are expected to participate in the rotation as part of their employment. Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of industry experience, including 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams as an Engineering Manager
Technical background in one or more of the following areas: file sync, file systems, desktop applications, client operating systems (Windows, macOS), distributed systems, C++, Rust
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics) or equivalent technical experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building products, specifically for Desktop
Demonstrated passion for solving customer problems
Compensation
Canada Pay Range
$184,500—$249,500 CAD
