About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Employment Counsel I, EMEA, to join our Legal Team in the EMEA region. The role will be responsible for providing legal advice and support on employment and employment-compliance matters across multiple jurisdictions within the EMEA region. The successful candidate will work closely with the Legal team, Global Operations team, as well as other stakeholders to ensure compliance with employment laws, mitigate legal risk, and support the company’s objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the ongoing growth of G-P across the EMEA region and globally.

What You Can Expect To Do

  • Provide high-quality oral and written legal advice and counseling on employment law matters throughout the EMEA region.  

  • Assist in developing creative approaches to managing legal risks and resolving disputes across the EMEA region.

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of company policies.

  • Partner across departments to build scalable and compliant processes and templates.

  • Maintain knowledge of national, state, provincial, and local laws across the EMEA region.

  • Assist with employment-related disputes and litigation including as a liaison with outside counsel.

  • Participate in the creation and delivery of training related to employment law matters.

  • Coordinate and drive completion of employment related projects and assorted other legal team projects to address the needs of a global, high-growth company.

 

What We Are Looking For:

  • Qualified to practice law in Romania or Hungary preferably. May consider other EMEA jurisdictions.

  • 3-6 years of combined employment law experience, including law firm practice and /or in-house legal department.

  • Experience with a broad range of EMEA employment law issues, and enthusiasm to get involved in new areas of law/jurisdictions.

  • Diligent, great organizational and people skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across the company.

  • Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail, with expertise in drafting and negotiating employment documents, including employment agreements, termination documents, and settlement agreements.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English, and focused attention to detail.

  • Sound legal judgment, creative problem-solving ability, and analytical skills.

  • Able to think on your feet, multitask, prioritize, and be proactive. 

  • Ability to provide clear guidance on complex and sensitive issues with an appropriate sense of commercial risk
