Employee Relations Specialist

The Employee Relations Specialist (ERS) serves as an HR partner to leadership across the organization, supporting multiple lines of business. This role is instrumental in the design and execution of HR initiatives spanning the employee lifecycle, including employee relations, talent and performance management, career development, employee communications, and workforce retention strategies.

The ERS leverages strong consultation and peer leadership skills to influence and guide leaders in the adoption of progressive HR practices. By aligning HR programs with business objectives, the ERS ensures the delivery of impactful, forward-thinking solutions that support organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.

Roles and Responsibilities:  

  • Develop a strong understanding of GuidePoint’s business to include an understanding of short-term and long-term goals for the organization and HR initiatives to support those goals.

  • Maintain broad influence through the ongoing development of relationships across the organization.

  • Support HR initiatives in the areas of performance management, employee relations, employee retention, and talent development to support the achievement of business objectives.

  • Provides guidance and coaching to leaders and employees on performance management, employee relations, retention strategies, and talent development to support organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.

  • Collaborates with HR Operations to identify opportunities for process improvement and streamline HR workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Cultivate a supportive and inclusive work environment for all employees that fosters a sense of belonging by engaging ERG’s to implement programs and events that foster GuidePoint’s culture.

  • Maintain current working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment practices and labor laws. Role model ethical standards, professionalism, and code of conduct.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, GuidePoint’s policies, processes, and practices.

Required Experience: 

  • 3-5 years of cross-functional HR experience (minimum of 3 years’ experience as an HR Generalist) is required.

  • Ability to build effective and trusting relationships with employees and leaders and know how to influence and empower them.

  • Proactive approach to problems with a drive for results.

  • Desire to take ownership of projects with limited supervision and demonstrated commitment to produce high quality work.

  • Experience working in a fast paced, high growth, dynamic business environment, tech industry experience highly desired.

  • Ability to write and communicate verbally in an effective and compelling manner.

  • Self-directed; comfortable working with ambiguity and uncertainty.

  • Maintains strict confidentiality.

  • Excellent communication skills, including excellent phone etiquette and a demonstrated ability to communicate professionally in both verbal and written forms.

  • Proven and effective time management skills, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize work and work in an autonomous environment.

  • Possesses the ability to manage and adapt to changes, delays, or unexpected shifts in priorities while maintaining focus and productivity in a fast-paced environment.

  • Success oriented, takes personal accountability, technical excellence and is positive, open and has a growth mindset.

  • Customer service driven and attention to detail is a must.

  • Ability to work flexible work schedule required.

  • Demonstrates a high level of empathy and emotional intelligence, fostering trust and understanding while navigating sensitive employee matters and promoting a supportive workplace culture.

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 10% Travel Required

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work

  • Substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for a minimum of 8 hours a day

  • Required to have close visual acuity to view computer terminal and/or extensive reading for a minimum of 8 hours a day
