Summary

Loyal is on a mission to transform how patients access and engage with healthcare. We believe healthcare should be as easy to navigate as any other consumer experience—intuitive, personalized, and seamless. As the Director of Product, you will play a pivotal role in shaping that future.

You will lead the product strategy and execution for our newest product offering—driving strategy, innovation, and delivery across a suite of patient engagement tools that serve some of the largest health systems in the country. This is a rare opportunity to build and scale a new, category-defining product suite that radically simplifies how people engage, access, and manage their healthcare journeys.

In this role, you’ll oversee a high-performing team, work closely with engineering, design, customer success, and executive leadership, and represent the voice of the customer throughout the product lifecycle. We’re looking for a strategic and execution-minded leader who is passionate about reimagining healthcare with the discipline of product thinking.

You will

  • Drive product development from ideation to launch through ongoing optimization to deliver the highest value to customers

  • Conduct market research, analyze customer feedback, and develop an understanding of the competitive landscape to inform product roadmap development and prioritization decisions to drive ROI

  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze product performance, identify areas for improvement, and continuously optimize the product

  • Develop long term insights, strategy, and priorities for your product team(s) in alignment with company priorities

  • Continuously engage customers to gain insight into customer needs and represent Loyal’s products

  • Practice effective internal and external communication, ensuring that priorities, high-profile metrics, trade-offs, and projects are well communicated and well understood

  • Partner with Engineering and Design to foster empowered product delivery teams operating effectively at all levels

  • Collaborate with Leadership, Marketing, Customer Success, and other functional areas to gain new insights, unlock opportunities, and work together more effectively, with a specific focus on enabling go-to-market strategies.

  • Manage cross-team dynamics to ensure the entire team is successful, proactively instituting process improvements across your team, e.g., review and provide feedback on roadmaps, strategic plans and feature specs

  • Coach team members to use modern, effective, and data-driven product management practices to prioritize, de-risk decisions, and create value

  • Plan the structure of your team, managing headcount, succession planning, external hires and internal transfers

  • Motivate your team to ensure they are engaged and connected to the larger company mission

You have

  • 7+ years of technology product management experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading Product teams to deliver against goals and objectives

  • Demonstrated experience mentoring and coaching team members

  • Experience working in the healthcare technology space preferred

  • Strong preference for experience integrating with EHRs (e.g., Epic, Athena, Meditech)

  • Experience working within a software as a service (SaaS) company

  • Proven ability to adapt while working within a start-up and/or high growth environment

Core Competencies

  • Management: You have the ability to manage a team of product managers

  • Strategic: You are able to handle many inputs, synthesize them, glean unique insights, and develop a cohesive go-forward strategy and detailed plan.

  • Execution: You have led multiple product teams which are able to execute consistently, delivering quality projects of the broadest scope and impact on time

  • Data: You have a penchant for analyzing large sets of data either through the use of SQL, code or Excel; familiar with SQL expressions; can understand database schemas

  • UI/UX: You are passionate about creating intuitive, simple user experiences.  You have a strong eye for usability and quality design.  You are a strong partner to and advocate for design

  • Technical: You are comfortable working with engineering leadership to prioritize broadly and you understand technical complexities of your product areas

  • Analytical: You have a good grasp of experimental design, statistical analysis and multivariate testing.  You can use data to set OKRs, create dashboards to monitor product health, review analyses from across the company and develop basic models. You can construct a narrative for using data in order to drive the decision making process

  • Organizational skills: You are able to manage multiple teams with stakeholders across the organization. You have experience working closely with business & marketing partners

  • Communication: You’re a strong communicator, both written and orally. You enjoy working with complex concepts and distilling them down so that anyone can understand them. You’re comfortable working cross functionally with stakeholders and can manage competing needs to drive alignment and resolution

  • Diplomatic: You know how to work with all different types of personalities, and can navigate tough conversations

  • Adaptive: You are curious, optimistic and a skilled problem-solver.  You embrace the unknown and are able to adapt to shifts in priorities. You look outside your day to day to ensure you keep learning and growing
