Purpose:

The Director of Product Management is a senior leadership role responsible for strategy and product management for Kueski’s personal loans product line, our largest business with a significant impact on the lives of millions of consumers in Mexico. You will make a direct contribution to achieving the company objectives through your leadership, combining your analytical and product leadership skills to develop a vision and strategy for personal loans, and your technical and cross-group collaboration skills to partner with engineering, design, and other functions to execute on this strategy and deliver strong business results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a vision and strategy for Kueski’s personal loans business

  • Based on a deep understanding of the market, consumer needs, and competitors, create a differentiated strategy that will ensure Kueski’s continued growth and position as a leader in the market

  • Attract, retain, and develop a high-performing product management team with accountability for the overall results of the products and business

  • Establish long-term product strategies, annual and quarterly roadmaps, and sprint planning

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams from engineering, design, marketing, data science, risk, customer support, and other functions to establish product goals, and establish the priority and sequencing of new features and product improvements

  • Conduct market research, analyze customer needs and feedback, and define product requirements 

  • Oversee the development process, and collaborate with design teams, operation managers, finance teams, and engineering managers to ensure the product meets quality standards 

  • Play a key role in business and marketing strategies, and ongoing product performance analysis

  • Clearly communicate the direction, plans, objectives, and performance measures and progress against plans to all stakeholders; plan and set strategies and have ownership for daily execution to achieve short-term and longer-term goals

  • Proactively address competing priorities and resolve complex conflicts between different teams

  • Lead transformative change when needed and serve as a living example of the desired culture of the company; help peers in other areas become successful so that the company is ultimately successful

  • Analyze data, metrics, and trends to inform the organization on how it should invest its resources

  • Help evolve the product management discipline within the Product organization and grow a healthy, collaborative, productive, and inclusive product culture in line with our company values

Position Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience managing and developing well-loved consumer products with experience defining product roadmaps, building collaboratively with design and engineering

  • 4+ years of experience managing high-performing teams, ideally with experience managing other people managers or team leads

  • Leadership capability to drive company objectives and achieve goals through people and processes

  • Proven ability to influence decision-making at all levels within an organization, and in a variety of contexts

  • An entrepreneurial, customer-focused product mindset with a proven track record of building products that customers love

  • Structured problem solver and expert at prioritization with good instincts and analytical skills to focus on the things that matter most

  • Compelling storyteller with experience communicating concepts and ideas to engineers and creatives 

  • Technical knowledge to define complex solutions and translate them into scalable products that solve problems

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across different teams and disciplines using qualitative and quantitative methods to solve ambiguous problems

  • Solid financial background with experience in financial services (banking, lending, financial transactions); expertise in accounting and finance is ideal

  • Experience with financial products with a track record of developing and deploying effective controls and managing fraud prevention, revolving credit lines, credit card or deposit products at an issuer or payment network is a distinct advantage

  • Ability to work with financial and analytical concepts such as revenue, P&L, statistical inference, and different credit product business models

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile development environment; startup and relevant scaled organizational experience is ideal

  • Experience with web / mobile development technologies

  • Engineering or other technical college degree is a plus

  • Fluent in both Spanish and English
