Director of Global Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
Why this role matters:
The Director of Global Strategic Sourcing & Procurement is responsible for developing and executing Vonage’s Sourcing and Procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, risk, and performance across our global supply base. This leader will oversee supplier management, contract negotiation, category management, and strategic sourcing initiatives across assigned direct and indirect spend categories. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply markets, exceptional negotiation skills, project management expertise, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
Your key responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement a comprehensive sourcing and procurement strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
Lead and evolve category management strategies across spend areas to deliver long-term value.
Drive procurement transformation initiatives including digital tools, policy standardization, and process automation.
Team Management
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sourcing and procurement team.
Establish KPIs and performance metrics to track team progress and supplier performance.
Supplier & Contract Management
Develop strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, innovation, and cost objectives are met.
Oversee contract lifecycle management, ensuring commercial terms, service levels, and risk mitigation are addressed.
Evaluate, negotiate, and manage key supplier agreements and strategic partnerships.
Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with internal business units (e.g., Apps, API, Legal, Finance, Marketing, R&D, Operations) to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
Act as a trusted consultant and advisor to executive stakeholders on market trends, cost drivers, and sourcing risks.
Cost Optimization & Risk Management
Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities through spend analysis, supplier consolidation, and strategic sourcing.
Implement robust risk assessment and supplier compliance programs to ensure business continuity and ESG alignment.
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership or senior sourcing role.
Extensive experience in sourcing or procurement leadership for IT, particularly in cloud and SaaS environments.
In-depth understanding of licensing models, cloud economics, and subscription-based services.
Strong negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and vendor governance capabilities.
Knowledge of IT security, compliance, and enterprise architecture considerations.
Proven track record of managing large-scale sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations.
Deep understanding of sourcing methodologies, total cost of ownership, and contract management.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Proficient in procurement systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, Graphite, Ivalua) and Excel-based modeling.
Experience in global sourcing and managing international supplier relationships is preferred.
